Excited.  Sweet Sixteen.  Bigtime VBall, football, hoops, etc at the nation's favorite university.

I think it was bobcatgrad who used to primarily run the Bobcat Challenge.  (Apologize if I haven't remembered correctly.)  If no one else will step up and run the Challenge this year, I'll do it.

And, I'd like to start this soon.  Any of you who used to help run this, let me know so I don't botch the concept.

For those who aren't familiar, you participate by making a pledge to The Bobcat Club (right?) with your contribution being based on milestones which you designate and which the team and players achieve.  For instance, you might donate $10 for every Bobcat victory or $4 for every rushing first down we achieve during the season or $3 for every turnover we achieve or $5 for every touchdown Jordan Thompson scores.

It's a genuine athletic contest and you win by benefitting the University.

That was indeed me Monroe. I was just to preoccupied with other things this year to devote the amount of time it takes to keep it running smoothly, but I would definitely like to restart in in the future when things settle down a little. In the meantime, if you or anyone else would like to run it in my absence, I will give you the spreadsheets that I used and answer any questions about running it that you have to help you kick it off.

First category:  OHIO Bobcats hold opponents to 15 points or less in a game.  Any takers at $18.04 per such event?

For you newbies, the BOBCAT CHALLENGE is this:  You commit to category milestones (e.g.,the number of games in which the 'Cats rush for 100 yards or more, etc). There are standard categories and you can make up your own!   Each time the Bobcats hit the milestone (meet the challenge, that is) you pledge to donate the amount of money to which you've milestone committed to the Bobcat Club.

You could end up donating hundreds of dollars...which help you ladder up your Bobcat Club priority points (for items such as priority on purchasing game tickets and parking when you purchase season tickets).

In prior years, the challenge has produced thousands of dollars of contributions.  We need to ramp that up bigtime, need to get up to $50,0000 THIS YEAR.

Can I tell you that prior years' efforts--kudos to bobcatgrad--have been the prime factor in OUr recent success?  Probably not....but it don't hurt at all.  Look at the achievements.

My descrip of the Challenge and Bobcat Club may not be 100% accurate.  So, you experts out there feel free to amend as needed.

Lookit, ladies and gentlemens, it's time to ring it up.  It's an indeniable fact that it takes the dollars to support the University and the athletic problems.  So, following on bobcatgrad's lead, pledge up.  pm me with your categores and corresonding pledges, all proceeds going to the Bobcat Club.  (See Bobcat Club rules for how your donations bring you benefits.  Benefits!)

Will you put your wallet where your pride and rooting enthusiasm are?

What are your categories and pledges--pm me and I'll keep track?!

Are you in for $.10 per rushing yard per game?  $3.00 per takeaway we achieve?  $15.00 for every return we bring back for six?  $18.04 for every W?

pm me.

p.s. bobcatgrad--pm me about how we can work together, if you have time.  or email your spreadsheets to me.  thanks, monroe

I kind of like this approach, but before I opt-in, I have a question about scoring.  If OHIO wins that MAC Championship this year, is that a payment of $200, or $300.  In others words, is it $100 for the show + $200 for the win, or does the $200 winner amount supersede the $100 show amount?  Same question for bowl appearances.  As you go up the scale this could make a lot of different to the old wallet and my ability to make this pledge.  Please clarify.

OCF, you're free to interpret as needed, or make your own donation plan, but I'm going to count a MAC Championship game win as both an appearance and a win.

Good clarification, gents.  I was gonna count, for instance, a MAC title as an appearance and a W.  I'll check with each person who joins, but I'll make the general assumption that the highest goal achieved is the one that counts when one stat could encompass several categories.

OK, I'm in for the CMoney plan, with the proviso that, as Monroe indicated, the overlapping categories for me will not be additive.  So, if we win the MACC, I'll pay for the victory amount, not the show plus victory amount.

Beat Penn State, $50. That is all.

(not trying to be cheap, but I'm already a season ticket holder, Bobcat Club Member and Indoor facility donor)

I'm in for the non-additive slate and I'll try to think up a couple more that I can afford.  I'm leaning toward a Coach of the Year/Player of the Year pot but it would have to be a limited selection of all those media outlets that do such things.

THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS BACK!!!!!!  I don't need too much incentive to root hard for the cats and for good things to come OUr way but this has always been fun.  Here are my pledges for this year.

1. $10 for each home win
2. $25 for each away win
3. $20 for each post season game played in
4. $40 for each post season win
5. $1 for each pushup the cheerleaders get to do during the homecoming game. (when my daughter cheered the cheerleaders did as many  pushups as OHIO's total score after each score.  Example: if OHIO scores 3 touchdowns then a field goal then another touchdown the pushups would be 7+14+21+24+31=97)  Here is hoping for a high scoring game
6. 1 cent for each person in attendance at Peden Stadium for the largest official attendance during the season.
7. $10 for each number of penalties under 5 for each game.

GO CATS

Ceramic, EastTennessee, 2NC--excellent!

You all who've joined have chosen splendid categories.  THANK YOU...even if you all may have to get second jobs since it looks like we may meet some of those standards innabigway.

PRELIMINARY REPORT FOR WEEK 1....NET PROCEEDS $475.20, led by a very, very robust $310 by colobobcat66 with $310.

The total will rise as I've not had a chance to look at such as sacks, # of penalties, etc so I haven't tally totalled for all categories.  And I haven't chosen my participation categories.  I promise that my pledge will be reasonably substantial.

HEY, C'MON THERE ARE ONLY 10 OF US WHO'VE SIGNED UP.  HONOR THE TEAM AND THE UNIVERSITY BY PLEDGING.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE MONSTER BIG HERE; EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS.  SIGN UP--SHOW YOUR O H I O!!!!!

Ok, it's probably about time I get around to this.

I donated post NCAA run but will jump on board for performance based stuff.

Here's what I've got:

$5 for each win.
$10 for each week in the top 25.
$15 for a win over Miami.
$20 for MAC East Crown.
$25 for each postseason win (MAC Champ, Bowl)
$100 for a BCS game appearance.
$250 for a BCS game win.

I'll make my total donation at season's end.

Hopefully it's a big number.
