I couldn't help but notice watching some of the games last year the school fenced off a section between the students and victory hill and allowed it to fill up SRO. Would it not make sense to bring in a set of temporary bleacher for those early season games when the crowd often surges beyond 24,000? Also the school should offer 8 dollar walk up tickets to the first 1,000 customers in November games to help fill the stands. The program needs every fan it can get down to the stadium.

Offer me an $8.00 walk up, why am I buying season tickets if I can't go to every game?

Because we would still save LOTS of money. In most season ticket locations, it only takes 2-3 games to save $$. While everyone else complains about $30 Homecoming/Parents' Weekend tix...it's a good feeling to be all set!

Because the 8 dollar walk ups are for the November games that you can't go to

And I'll add, if you want to consider temporary bleachers, why not in the closed end of the stadium?

Why don't we finish off the North end and make it a horseshoe?

Why? We have a tiny stadium. Why add more bad seats?  If our stadium is going to be small, it should at least be known for having a very high percentage of quality view seats.  The stadium will never look right until the endzone sections are blown up and renovations are made that fit the existing grandstands.

...And temporary bleachers? Are you kidding? Can we make it look more small-time? Fill the seats we have, game in, game out, then work towards a permanent expansion.

"Oh, Sorry, did you get shut out of an early season game? Tough !@#$.  The season ticket window is right over there. Cheapest tickets in the country, and it was open in June."

A few years ago I attended an oversold game at MIZZOU. They set up temp bleachers behind the north endzone. The field level perspective was fun for a change.  My son, then about 12, caught a field goal.  He had to give the ball back though.  We were close to the ROTC cannon crew.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I would love to see the wings torn down, come straight across with seats, put two large concession booths under the end, put seats (chair) in the reserve sections and then remodel under the stands.

They are NOT going to tear down the wings.  Ever.

$$$ and so much brick work/landscaping has been done inside and outside of the stadium that it would be a poor use of money to tear it all up. It would make more sense to blast out Victory Hill and finish the perimeter of the stadium.

DFC all valid points. The way I was envisioning it is that Ohio could put some nice looking hunter green bleachers in to try to frame in the wings and Victory Hill better bringing fans closer to the field. This doesn't have to look cheaply done at all. I just think it would be cool to have fans hanging litterally right off the field for an intense atmosophere. The growth of Ohio football is more on the lower end with more students attending it doesn't make sense to drop 20 million dollars on a stadium expansion when for 1 million customized bleachers could be put in to raise capacity to 27,000 to maximize attendance. Note that about 500-1,000 fans were turned away from the New Mexico State game. Steel bleachers could fit in architecturally with a stadium built in 1929 that has an old time feel.

I suppose the issue with trying to convey ideas over the Internet is that I just can't imagine what that would actually look like. It sounds like it makes sense, but I just can't picture it in my head.
