or rhythmic gymnastics, or quilt making, or hair dressing, or anything but golf. Please don't say golf. And where does this leave demolition derby on the waiting list? Personally, I'm a big fan of team handball but since my local court closed down it's hard to find a game (match?) and I'm not able to keep up.
I'm a big golf fan, too, but the issue I have is that a gold medal in golf is not the standard in the sport. What I mean by that is more people are likely to remember a golfer if he wins a major, particularly the Masters because of the green jacket, not a gold medal. Same with basketball; a player is more likely to be remembered by how many NBA titles he has, not gold medals. I'm NOT saying golf shouldn't have been added, but I just wanted to add some perspective...
