Saw Eric Herman and I think 4 other MAC players.  Congrats to Eric again.  The SEC combine will get underway in a few weeks..

7 MAC players (Miami QB Zac Dysert; Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher; Ohio OL Eric Herman; Bowling Green DT Chris Jones; Ball State P Scott Kovanda; UMass OL Stephane Milhim and Kent State OL Brian Winters). Congrats to Eric, big step towards the NFL.

I see he's projected at a 6th rounder, and rated 11th of 222 offensive guards.

Other seniors who are rated:
Scott - 22/211 DE's - possible 7th round/FA
Moore - 39/141 Free Safeties
Allen -22/98 Centers
Weller - 12/61 kickers
Huynh - 67/218 DTs
Carlotta 133/222 guards
Lewis - 111/261 OLB

It would be a definite first to have 2 players drafted in the same year, and we'll probably see a few free agents sign, too.

For the record, we would difinetely have two players being drafted this year if Travis Carrie was healthy this season.

Did anyone see Herman and TScott play in the Texas vs. non-Texas game last week?  If so, how'd they do?

Eric Herman is the 10th best Offensive Guard in the draft according to Phil Steele.

One of only three MAC players from all positions.  Dysert, 3 star recruit, many offers, Eric Fisher, 2 star recruit, 5.2 rating, then Herman. two star DE recruit, 5.1 rating.  Rating services sure missed it on Fisher and Herman.

Just goes to show how inexact a science recruiting is.  So hard to measure the success a player will have by the time he is 21/22 when he is 17/18.  There have been plenty of heralded recruits who do not pan out and vice versa.  Was reminded about this while reading on Roethlisberger's induction into the Miami Hall of Fame in the paper this weekend.  The Redchickens took a chance on him and I think its safe to say it worked out for them pretty well.

I thought the legend was that he was being recruited by osu, but committed to Fiami when John Cooper couldn't spell his name.

I have heard that too.  The biggest point I think though was that MU was going to have him as a QB and OSU, as you referenced, wanted him as a TE. I know I would probably have pronounced it as Row-th-lis-berger.

Ahhh that's right. I forgot osu wanted him as a TE, not a QB.

Ben was a TE in High School until his senior season, the coaches son (Ryan Hite) played QB.  By the time anyone knew who he was they already had all their studs in the bank.  The guy essential went in 2 months from an unknown to a top flight QB.  Even after his Senior season, many schools had doubts about him as a QB.

According to results I saw today, Herman was first in bench press results for OL/TE by benching 225 lbs 36 times!

Oops, I see TG created another thread with this info.
