I saw that season tickets for football go on sale on 4/11.  Has anyone heard if they will be increasing the prices, given the 7th game?

My guess is that they will go up by at least 15% and then will stay at that price for subsequent 6 games seasons.  Even at that price, they're still cheap.

Agreed...I don't see any way they don't go up a little bit with the extra game. Especially with playing Marshall this season.

Still a steal, and might actually be less $$$ on a per-game basis.

At 15% per year the price will double every 3.5 years.

a)  Your math is incorrect.  Please look up 'the rule of 72.'

b)  What's your point?  Look at the cost of the tickets vs. the value.

True...but I don't think prices have been raised for 3-4 years (at least my seats haven't). And you can't expect no price increase with an extra game.

According to the schedule they were passing out in Cleveland this past weekend, "Season tickets as low as $4.50 per game." I believe that was the family pack per ticket price last year as well.

I think what Al said was the price will remain at the +15% level, not that they will increase 15% every year.  Big difference.

And as long as I'm in correction mode, Monroe, it's the rule of 78's.  One of the handiest financial calculators one can remember.

The Rule of 72 is used to estimate an investment's doubling time. Rule of 78 is used for something else. I believe Monroe was using the Rule of 72 correctly.

Rule of 72: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_72

I stand corrected.  I've been misquoting it forever.

For about the past decade it hasn't mattered. 72/0 or 78/0 still doesn't get your money doubling.
