Sounds kind of far-fetched, but I found this discussion interesting.  At least it's nice to know that the MAC can be part of an internet rumor for a change.  The only part of this that seems at all likely to me would be WKU.  Everyone thinks they are going to C-USA to replace Tulsa, but the were interested in the MAC once before.  I wonder what Marshall would think if WKU ended up in the MAC.  Curious to see reactions of BAers to this rumor.  As I said, I have very serious doubts about it, but it makes for interesting discussion prior to the Spring game and some real Bobcat action.

Edit: And this.

Second Edit:  As I think about this I have to remember that this is the same brain trust that added UCF, Temple and now UMass for football only.  So, I guess, anything is possible.  The talk here, though, seems to be for full membership and not just football.  I'm still skeptical, but I guess it's never good to assume logical thinking when talking about the MAC decision-making process.

FWIW, several members of the media are reporting WKU to CUSA. See the below link from Doug Smock who is usually reliable.

Tulsa out, WKU in for CUSA

With MTSU in CUSA, WKU moving there makes sense, although they don't bring much of a TV market into the mix.

If the MAC brings in WKU and ULL and/or ASU as its next move, I am 100% on the leave MAC now bandwagon. Right now, I am only 50% on board.

Well, WKU is now in CUSA...so take one off the board. And I'd stake a pretty large bet that ULL and ASU aren't coming either...

I have no problem with those schools and their athletic programs.  I just don't see it being feasible geographically.

Agreed. Miami is the closest MAC school to Western Kentucky at 4 hours. Most of the trips are 6 or 7 hours or more. It would be 7 hours to Cleveland or Detroit for the tournament or football title game, so even Western Kentucky was a slight stretch geographically, slightly farther than Northern Illinois and Buffalo.

WKU will officially be announced to CUSA sometime tomorrow around 12:30-1:00. Gonna be a heck of a basketball league with WKU, Charlotte and ODU coming in.

We go from having hardly anyone in close proximity of Marshall to having 4 teams (Charlotte,MTSU,WKU,ODU) within easy driving distance. I hate to see UCF and ECU go but no love lost for SMU, Houston, Tulane etc. They can have those schools.

Not sure CUSA will stop at 14 or go to 16 schools. Rumor is that they will go to 16 with Arkansas State in the West and a mystery team in the East. I have no idea who the final east team will be. We've heard rumors that it could be an Ohio based Mac school to possibly Delaware or a JMU. I really doubt it will be JMU with ODU already on board. My guess is Delaware or one of the Mac schools. Have heard Toledo mentioned as a possibility in the past.

You guys hearing anything on your end?
