Looks like CUSA loses another one.

The conference may have officially lost Tulsa, but this new conglomeration looks a lot like C-USA.  I believe UConn and Temple are the only schools who are not past members (excluding future member Navy)?

In the name of the deity of your choice, please do not let this become another one of those total, 100%, absolute fantasy threads about how we're moving to a new conference.  There has never--never--been anything to that effect by anyone who matters beyond a very, very vague expression of intent to compete with the best.

No doubt TUguy, UConn and UC have their bags packed and are ready at a moments notice. Give them credit for not being shy about their true intentions. CBSsports is reporting that the Old BigEast has cut a 7 year 3million per year deal to televise the Bball side of things. That goes along with ESPN's 7 year 121 million football package. Probably not a bad deal considering all the upheavel and turmoil of the Old Big East.

Had to look it up, and I'm honestly not sure if this is right but, the 'Soon to be renamed league' is:

Temple
Memphis
Navy
Houston
SMU
UCF
USF
Tulane
ECU
UCONN
UC

Honestly as I look that over, if UC and UCONN leave, but you take Ohio and maybe 'Kron or Buffalo, that wouldn't be THAT bad of a league.  I rather have any of thoes teams in Peden or the Convo over EMU or BGSU.

It looks like an upgrade for football, and honstly a fairly competitive basketball league.

We'd have a built in rival with Temps, and whatever other MAC team we grabbed?  We could hate ECU too just for fun.

I wouldn't mind this since I live in Florida, not that far from UCF.

EDIT TO ADD:

Travel wouldn't be that bad either:

North:

Temp
Ohio
ECU
Memphis
Kron or Buff
Navy

South

Houston
SMU
UCF
USF
Tulane
Tulsa

Double Edit:  Just realized Tulsa (duh) would be team 12, added them to the south.

My guess is that if this were to transpire that Akron or Buffalo would end up being Toledo.

Agreed, I just prefer to pretend we'd get to take a team we already have a rivalry of sorts with already with us.  I don't feel much of anything one way or the other about UT.

Edit to Add:  NIU wouldn't be out of the realm either would it?  Might be better for us in the long run as well.

the Big Least would take UMass before any of us because UMass is really awful in football and their bball team hasn't danced in 15 years.

don't look for logic when discussing conference realignment, there is none.
