And the story is on the Browns' website, so that might have significance.

Well they did just sign Graham, what a downgrade to Dawson.  So he would have a shot there.

i was really hoping that they would give him a shot after they let dawson go in FA.  might have to get a weller jersey if they sign him since my colt mccoy jersey is now worthless

Kicking at First Energy Stadium (I hate that name but oh well) here in Cleveland is far more difficult than kicking at Peden Stadium.  The winds at First Energy blow in all sorts of directions throughout the game.  It's a graveyard for kickers, that's why Dawson's filed goal accuracy is so impressive.  And towards the end of the season the grass turf at First Energy is terrible.

I'd like to see Weller as a Brown if he's good enough but if he comes to Cleveland and becomes the Browns' kicker, he has HUGE shoes to fill!  Woe to the Browns kicker this year that misses his first field goal at home!  Fans will boo that kicker out of the stadium since most of us think the Browns should have resigned Dawson.

But I digress.  Good luck to both Matt Weller AND Eric Herman this weekend!
