Max Corcoran - A fellow Amanda Clearcreek grad.
espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/113949/max-corcoran

Dontray Crawford - Won an offensive practice player of the week award last year with us.  My guess is he's the most likely to contribute out of this group.

Has to be related to Judge Carson Crow, who played for the Bobcats back in the day...

Athletes they are. I'm sure they'll help the practice squads.

Spring is a good time for guys like these to try out. With no game prep going on, the coaches should have more time to find talent and coach them up. Most of them may never contribute on the field, but they all get a fair shot at it, and the ones with some talent, and who work hard may surprise us someday. Kudos to all of them for putting in the extra effort to give it a shot as a walkon. It's not an easy road, but we've already seen some walkons rise from that status to starters.

So it looks like some work has been done to update the roster a little. Noticed John Taylor and Blair Brown missing.

Seems like the changes coincided with this:

It has made me thankful for SIDs who actually update their rosters before April. (EMU: good. Ohio: baaaaaad.)

Even if he only gets time on the practice squad, I'm glad to see kids from the MSL-Buckeye on the team.

At this point I would take a roster scribbled in crayon. I'm bored and it would provide hours of entertainment.

Arkley confirms Taylor is gone but says Blair Brown still on roster.

Looks like they're changing the 2012 roster to the 2013 roster a little but at a time.  I see newcomers plus guys who are no longer with the team.  One of the more interesting changes has to do with players and their weight and/or loss gain.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

* Of the guys listed above I think Crawford could work his way into the WR rotation.

* I told you last year that if Tony Davis weighed 215 that I weighed 145 (well I did in hs)...Davis at 280 pounds will be a force both inside and out on the DL.

* Taylor came in somewhat highly regarded at DT....never seemed to pan out.

* Good to see Mike Lucas at about 315....thought 340 was a tad too heavy.

* Kendric Smith at 260 will be a force at DE.

* How did Bubba Williams go from 190 last year to 270 this year.....he's a long snapper....but I think he played wr in hs.

I also saw two other names I'm not familiar with:
Wesley Gilber, DL 6-2, 296
Calvin Holloway S 6-1, 200

Along with walkons joining the program, some appear to have left::
Art Jordan TE
Andrew Pepin TE
Adam Alderman WR
Chris Johann WR
Tyler Lang S
Garrett Foster LB
Craig Luburgh LB
James Radabaugh DE
Colt Beuhner DE

Not showing on the roster, but expected was:
Dyquan Stewart Nickle
Blair Brown LB
Mitch Rider LB

Per Arkley's article today on the second scrimmage, Blair Brown is playing quite well at MLB this Spring.

Green was a two-star recruit who was on scholarship at Oklahoma State and is competing for the starting kicker job with Yazdani. He redshirted and then saw some action last year on a handful of kickoffs and has applied for a hardship waiver so he does not have to sit out this year because his dad has a kidney disease.

Here's a story on it: http://www.athensohiotoday.com/sports/ohiouniversity/just-for-kicks/article_e5a93e89-c481-5d67-8006-0eaca63b2bac.html

And a video: http://www.ohiobobcats.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/033013aaa.html

The story also notes that Green punts, as well as kicks.

Presumably Matt Amicone is competing for that position as well.

I see a "Spring 2013" roster now on Ohiobobcats.com. I don't have time to check it out, but it appears to have more new names. Glancing at it, I don't recall Markus Tanksley, WR, Casey Schappacher S/DB, or Kevin Bazzoli, TE.

Matt Ringle also, but according to the article, Yazdani and Green have the inside track. It's a nice thing to have many seemingly good options to replace one of the best Ohio has ever had at the position.

"Paul Wilks" is actually "Tres' Wilks". Kid is from Ironton High School in Southeast Ohio. Played under Bob Lutz. Very fun to watch in high school, glad he's getting an opportunity here.
