What's wrong with Daz.  I hadn't heard about his injury, or if I did, I've forgotten.

Come on, man. It's in this thread. Read up a couple of posts.

According to Arkley's Twitter, Daz Patterson, Justin Haser and Devin Jones have shoulder injuries and will miss 6 months. It's hoped they'll be back by MAC play.

Thanks, Ted, I guess I missed that one.  I thought I had read all the posts in this thread.  It's my computer's fault, it must have skipped that post!

Note: Blaming a computer for human frailty has replaced the time-honored dog-ate-my-homework excuse.  And, it has about the same credibility.

Ouch. They won't be ready until October 1st and will miss the Louisville game is the way I read the statement.

Defense
DE: Branz/Sayles (I know the coaches probably will work Sayles inside, but damn it I want him as a monster DE!!!)
DE: Barber/K. Smith
DT: Crutcher/Purdum
DT: Tautuaki/McLeod
OLB: Grady/W. Johnson
OLB: Moore/Brown
MLB: Russell/Schany
CB: Carrie/Fisher
CB: Shaw/Wells
FS: Hughes/Ingol
SS: Kristoff/Carpenter

Thought the O looked good except for Johnson starting at RG.  Look for McQueen to push both the OT's and the OG's.

DEFENSIVE THOUGHTS

* I like Moore at OLB....but do the coaches?

*  W. Johnson and Blair are missiles at OLB....but Jovon Johnson has a tad more experience.  Our OLB's sound like the roster of the townsfolk in Blazing Saddles.

*  Is Schany better than Russell at MLB....again experience may rule.

*  Davis may be on the second rotation at DE....at 280 pounds he can play inside or out.

* I think Kendric Smith starts at DE.....Barber a little light in the pants.

*  Bass will see his share of time at DB...and at kick returner early in the year since Daz will miss a few games.

* Purdum may start over Tautuaki at DT.

*  Love Sayles at DE.

*  Laseak may see more time than Barber at DE.

*  Haser may work his way into the DT rotation once he returns from injury.

New roster has Ingol up to 220+. If he has maintained his speed he will be an enforcer.

Doc, do we know who started, where, at the final spring scrimmage? Moore inside or out? Purdam? Smith/Basham? Safeties? OLBs?

I believe Moore was at his usual MLB spot. Ty Branz was playing DT.
