MOFO slogging vs App St in a pouring rain in Orlando. 6-3 Mountaineers approaching halftime.

Miami sucks.

MOFO loses 13-0.

A mini--brawl broke out during a scrum on MOFO's missed PAT. Must be a moon phase or something.

I suppose I should be rooting for MAC teams to do well in their bowl games - except for Fiami. Just can't do it.

My optimism is high for next year after today. As great a passer as Kurtis was, the dual threat aspect of Navarro fits our historical system better.

Lord willing, I'll be in Oxford next fall to watch us knock the crap out of them, which is how it's supposed to be.

Can you explain how they lost 13-0 when they missed an extra point? It was 13-9. I laugh at the hatred for Miami for a reason.

I'll be honest I went to school in Oxford my freshman year. Can you not root for them out of envy possibly? I assume you've heard of the "Cradle of Coaches"? Maybe? Possibly?

Not exactly a list on no-names, right?

The program's largest cohort are football coaches Earl Blaik, Paul Brown, Woody Hayes, Bill Arnsparger, George Little, Weeb Ewbank, Sid Gillman, Ara Parseghian, Bo Schembechler, John Pont, Carmen Cozza, Bill Mallory, Joe Novak, Ron Zook, Dick Crum, Paul Dietzel, Bill Narduzzi, Randy Walker, John Harbaugh, Nobby Wirkowski, Gary Moeller, Larry Smith, Dick Tomey, Terry Hoeppner, and Sean McVay.

Why yes!!! That's it! I never realized it until now. The reason I dislike them is not because they're our arch rival, but because of a bunch of (mostly dead) guys that used to coach there.

All this time, I just thought they sucked. Who knew that tha BA could be so enlightening!

My daughter has a master's in Global Biology from Fiami and I still don't like them in sports. Besides, all the buildings on campus look alike and what they call "uptown" pales in comparison to uptown Athens.

My poor eyesight and I didn't take the time to proofread it.

BTW, just as in our game, a defensive player was ejected on the play. Deja vu all over again.

EMU getting absolutely embarrassed by SBama 59-3 late in the game in Mobile. It's always tough playing a bowl game on the other team's home field

At least NIU won today, so the MAC will be 202.

EMU looked totally clueless. The most embarrassing MAC bowl loss that I can remember. I watched the last half for its comedic value. It was a real laugher.

Unlike EMU, NIU looked like a college football team. Nice win for the MAC. Loved seeing Butch Jones go ballistic.

That performance completely obliterated all the increased respect I had developed for their football program over the past several years. Their offense and defense reminded me of the old electric football game I had in the 60s where, when switched on for play, players inappropriately moved in all directions and couldn’t tackle, only bump other players.

The only two schools with a longer bowl winning streak than Ohio are Minnesota and Alabama. Hopefully BG can break Minny tonight and Michigan the same to Alabama in the CFP.

BG on the comeback which was halted by a big kick off return. I hope Santa brought Ohio a kicker who can put the ball in the end zone every kickoff.

If he does the kicker will complain about NIL money and leave for a Big10 school.

All we need is for one year. Then go out and get another one. Kids nowadays can all kick the ball. I think much of it is a coaching philosophy. I just say why give up any potential for a run back. Make them go 75 yards every time for one.

The bogus PI that let Minny keep the ball on that crucial drive was the killer. Replay clearly showed that the offensive player initiated the contact and that the defensive player had established position and he has equal rights to the space. These refs reminded of some homers when I played high school football. Just horrible. Put one in the books for the zebras.

Steven Godfrey writes preseason previews for the Athlon magazine and he gets quotes from coaches. Here's what opposing coaches in the MAC had to say about EMU:

"Take this as a compliment: They're dirty and mean. They want to fight you on every play. They'll fight you after the game. They don't get demoralized when they lose. They turn kids your staff didn't even want into specialized guys, some kid from the suburbs who does on thing well. They don't scare you on film, they're never really talented, but you never want to play them."

I don't know how a MAC coach can say that as a compliment, hahaha.

Spetic was one of the longest kickers at the Kohl's kicking camp last season, so it might just be coaching feeling like they can get shorter yardage on a return.

He was rated the #6 kicker in the country at this camp that had everyone.
1 - Woodring at UGA
2 - Craig at Mizzou
3 - Reddick at UCF
4 - Radicic at IU
5 - Alvano at Nebraska
7 - Joseph at Houston

"Spetic was a finalist for the Under Armour All-American Game based on his field goal and kick-off charts. At the Midwest Showcase Camp in May of 2022. Spetic won the field goal contest at the camp with 130 other campers. He showed an ability to hit multiple 70-yard kickoffs... has unique range on field goals and his ball flight looked different than others at camp."

I agree, it was an awful call. Also, did you see when BG ran a trick play of sorts when they were about to snap the ball on a play in punt formation without their punt unit on the field (it was designed to get a penalty on the opponent if they didn't adjust formation - very creative), and before they snapped the ball, the ref walked up to the Minnesota player over the ball and tapped him on the hip to get him to move off to the side??? I couldn't believe it! BG totally designed the play to run to get the penalty because the Minnesota player wasn't aware he was now illegally lined up and the ref totally walked up and hit him on the side to get him to move over to avoid the call. It was baffling and complete BS. BG's coaches were hot and had every right to be. Why is the ref walking into the formation and moving players to avoid a penalty??? Unreal...

If we need another kicker, Bama has one that was also a star at the Kohl's event one year and in two seasons hasn't seen the field once for Bama. I saw him nail a 50 yarder in a high school varsity game when he was in 9th grade.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFVJIqqktug

His 62 yard FG at Kohl's drew an ovation.

He probably gets a ton of NIL and couldn't be persuaded. Not getting experience probably means nothing to the NFL as if you can get an invite to camp saying you were always second at Bama you can then prove your worth in camp after you have built your net worth with the NIL!
