I think the takeaway here is my realization that ESPN has the monopoly on bowls.
ABC-2
CBS-1

And ABC=ESPN anyway. That means just 2 bowls not on one of their networks. WOW!

ESPN created seven of the bowls -- New Mexico, Vegas, Beef O'Brady's, Compass, Bell Helicopter, Hawai'i and Texas.

Mobile has the #1 pick next year so if we win the MAC East I'm sure we'll be selected since NIU was there just 2 seasons ago. I'm assuming here NIU is going to win the West but they do have 3 straight MAC West crowns and return their QB with the Toledo game at DeKalb. Ohio doesn't win the MAC East it likely ends up in the Poinsettia Bowl as a backup for Army according to the contracts.

Yep. And when Cotton is part of the playoff, ESPN has the rights to that, too. Wonder who will broadcast Cotton in non-playoff years (FOX's current deal ends with the 2014 game). Sun Bowl contract is up after this years (2013) game, too, but they've been with CBS since '68.
