Actually, it's the other way around.  Buffalo announced that it will have concerts before all home games.  They're Oct. 5 homecoming game vs. EMU will feature at 10 a.m. performance by Kool & the Gang (the game is scheduled for noon and for some reason will be on ESPN3).  So you come for the music and stay for the football?

Something about county-fair-level band involvement makes me think this is a bad idea.

I guess I hope it works.  The MAC needs fans.

Actually I think this is a great idea and one that would work here too.  SE Ohio is a bit of a music hotbed these days (Fur Peace Ranch, Stuart's Opera House, Nelsonville Music Festival).  There are only so many folks in the area so the addition of quality music to the game day atmospshere might actually attract some non-traditional football fans.  For years, Lou's band played in tailgate park before the game.  Why not take it to the next level (no offense to Backwords) and pay for a nice sound system and stage?

And what's the 110?

I agree with Alan here.  Might be a good idea.   Would not interfere with the 110.

I agree. Great idea. Not sure how this is best formatted... Game after the concert or game before the concert... Honestly, it can be a bit much mixing an entire football game and concert into one day. Definitely limits tailgating as well.. Still, I like the creativity here.

I'm not sure it necessarily accomplishes the goal of getting students to the game. They can just as easily come to the concert and leave. Also, it seems that this would get rather expensive - not sure it's the best use of money. Time will tell if this has any appreciable impact on UB's crowd.

Baseball teams do it all the time.  I like them better after the game.  Forces the fans to stay.  I would say let the 110 get on the field while the crew sets up the stage....

'Cause we're going to have a good time tonight.

Perfect tag line for OU football this year with four home night games.

Two of them - one at each end of Court.
