After last year's really good showing vs. AQ schools, I wondered what this season might look like.  Actually, it could be even better.  Of the 27 games vs AQ schools this season, I think the MAC could win as many as 15 of them:

Good chance:
NIU-Iowa
Toledo-Missouri
BG-Indiana
NIU-Purdue

Could happen:
WMU-Mich St
Ohio-Louisville
Fiami-Kentucky
WMU-Northwestern
Kent-Penn St
WMU-Iowa
Fiami-Illinois
BSU-UVA
BG-Miss St.
UConn-Buffalo
CMU-NC State

Fuggetaboutit:
Akron-UCF
Buffalo-Ohio State

UMass-Wisconsin
CMU-Michigan
EMU-Penn St
Buffalo-Baylor
Akron-Michigan
UMass-Kansas State
EMU-Rutgers
Kent-LSU
Vanderbilt-UMass
Cincinnati-Fiami

Just to be ridiculous and be able to brag if it happens, I'm going to call a Kent win over LSU or a Buffalo win over OSU. lol

I would put these three in the middle column.

Burning out late yesterday afternoon, I saw a few minutes of the Montreal/Calgary CFL game.  CFL action is fun.  Suddenly I heard a familiar name mentioned:  OHIO's own Chip Cox.

I had to change channels, though.  Last year's Cinci/Louisville game came on.  I watched most of the first half and some of the second:  Louisville is good and Bridgewater is good.  But we can beat them.  I'd be very, very surprised if they blow us out.  I wouldn't be surprised if we win that one.

I thought about putting Buffalo-Baylor over there, but Buffalo has one road win in the last two seasons (UMass; Baylor ain't UMass).  Akron's even worse: they lost by 42 points to UCF at home last year; haven't beaten a 1A school since '09; and haven't won a road game since '08 (Syracuse, of all teams).  Cincy seems to have Fiami's number -- they've won seven straight in the series, the last six by 25+ points.

Fair points, but my level of surprise would be relatively low with an Akron, Buffalo, or Miami win in these games. I can't imagine saying "Holy S*!t, I can't believe Miami beat Cincinnati!"

Akron hasn't won a road game since 2008, there's no way they break that streak against a 10 win team that beat them by 6 touchdowns at home last year.
