This was posted on the O-Zone Facebook page.  Nice little promo on the homepage and every sport on the teams page has an interview with the head coach about the program.  Really nice to see what they've been doing over the summer.

Great video. Though I think the whole "We Are" thing is getting to be a bit cliche.................

Unlike other schools...that use it in a very unoriginal manner...I like our occasional using of it. Why?? Because it's a great back-handed slap at the junior institution in Columbus. A little reminder that WE, not them, are OHIO. Also, since the whole "Michi-gone" thing...we have to serve notice to our neighbors up north as well.

My State, My Team....We Are Ohio....keep them coming. This is OUr school...O$U can take a hike!!

My point - definition of "cliche". Penn State used it first. Terd stole it from them. Now everybody does it (and we were not first w/this one - see link below). I'm not fiercely opposed to it - just.....kinda Ho Hum..............

My high school used to chant the "We are......." cheer ad nauseam at one time.  While I don't go to nearly as many games as I used to it seems to have died down.  Not the worst cheer but doesn't slap me in the face as unique or original.  I have seen some more cheesy things done in the past by other schools.

The Herd owns it.  Everybody else just copies it.  (I know Penn State used it first, but the Herd owns it now)

To the other posters, don't fool yourself about OSU vs Ohio.  I don't have a dog in the fight, but nobody but Ohio fans believe that Ohio University owns or represents the state of Ohio.  OSU is top dog in the state and always will be.

The point here is not who people of the state think represents them; it's a matter of the name of the school. It is a legal fact that Ohio University has the right to be called "Ohio". Ohio State is "Ohio State" or "the Ohio State", but they are not "Ohio". It isn't in dispute.

for real? I had no idea. learn something new every day.

the "We Are Ohio" slogan is not the same as the cheer. The web slogan is a literal description of the content within, the chant is more of an ethereal declaration of an identity of a group of people.

Yeah, I think some people look at it as "We are.... Ohio"  whereas I'm pretty sure it's intended with no pause or anything like that.

If anything, the emphasis should be on "we"....as in WE are Ohio.

Those that were at the Michi-gone game in Nashville can attest to this being how the chant was started that night.

Is it cliche to name your school after the state where it is located?

WE are OHIO. Whether people on the outside, the inside, realize it or not, that statement positions us for more success than we've ever seen. The University making that statement, repeating that statement, fights for the future of this athletics program. And that's an understatement.

Cliche, maybe. But in my mind indispensable. As if the urge to be unique isn't cliche.

Pretty much - all the state names are taken now w/the additional array of added (enter state name here) "State", "Tech", "A&M", etc. Then there the wide variety of "directionals". I suppose there is a lot of room to add on more South's and North's to Easts and Wests, and a bunch of Centrals. Maybe even some Uppers and Lowers. In fact - that's really about all the chant is, a declarative location (directional geographic) statement. So cliche now I guess it is just to make sure you know you are at the right game.........

Who knows I guess, maybe visitors after driving 2, 3, or 5 hours from Huntington, Oxford, or Ypsilanti might forget where they drove to?
