We had this discussion on the basketball board not too long ago and it is worth bring over to the football board. Who is the highest-profile current NFL player that we have played against? I would say it is either Roethlisberger or Randy Moss, should Moss play this year. The next in line might be Darrelle Revis. All three of those played in Peden. Ray Rice was a tough matchup for us. Any others?

just thinking back to that 2009 Tennessee game, The Vols had Montario Hardesty, as well as Eric Berry, missed out on Arian Foster by a year.

Byron Leftwich, Will Davis from Utah State was a second rounder this year? If Nick Saban played for Kent State he must have played the Cats, and Bama is basically a pro team. lol

FWIW, Randy Moss never played in Peden. Brandon Lloyd and Josh Cribbs did, though. At one time the entire Pittsburgh Steelers QB roster (rothlisberger, Batch and Leftwich) had played in Peden, as did David Garrard. I'm not sure Michael Burner Turner or Ahmad Bradshaw played in Peden or not.

I don't recall CMU in Peden, but I'd imagine we played against the #1 pick. Cannot remember his name... Sorry olinemen everywhere.

Okay, with a few minutes to kill, here's a quick list, in addition to above, of notable non-Ohio alum, current NFL players to likely have played in Peden. (Not going through old participation reports.) There's a ton more on rosters, and a ton more we played on roadies, but these are just a quick look at names most NFL fans will recognize.

Greg Jennings, Jason Babin, Tony Scheffler, Chase Blackburn, Domenik Hixon, James Starks, Shaun Suisham, Asante Samuel, Antonio Brown, Joe Staley, Jon Goodwin, Frank Zombo, TJ Lang, Kevin Walter, Seneca Wallace, Vinny Curry, Julian Edelman, James Harrison, Tom Crabtree, Marion Barber, Laurcence Maroney, Barry Church, Jalen Parmele, Lance Moore, John Greco, Larry English, Bernard Pierce and a host of Temps in the NFL, Brad Meester, Mike McGlynn, Rashad Stephens-Howling,

I realize he's no longer an NFL player, but Terry Crews is more famous now than when he was a player.

He was a 1991 NFL draft pick out of Western Michigan. He played 32 games as a DE/LB in five seasons in the NFL, but is better known as an actor from the sitcom "Everybody Hates Chris" and in the Old Spice commercials. He has had quite a few movie appearances as well and is in his own sitcom now on BET.

In 1970 the Ohio State freshman team played OU at Peden when Ohio State was ranked No. 1 in the country. Randy Gradishar was a starting linebacker ( 7 time Pro Bowler). I believe it was the last year freshman were ineligible to play in regular games. Gradishar was listed as 210 lbs on the roster I still have ( I was 185). They had 4 guys on the freshman roster play in the NFL.
