Oh the good old days where $40 got you a membership for your family for the year ($25 if you were a senior citizen).

One of the first things they say is "the first time ESPN was ever in Athens....."  Think about that for a minute.

How many times have they been there since?

We've covered a lot of ground in the past 8 years or so.  Granted MACtion has helped but still.

Wow, this is the first time I've seen highlights from regulation.  Peden sounded electric that night.

Wooooowwwww. A lot of other good players in there who launched the Solich era, too. Mark Parson, Todd Koenig, Kalvin McRae, Voncarie Owens, Tyler Russ, TJ Wright...

That was MACtion before we knew what MACtion was. That game was my first weekend of law school. I was hanging out at a bar with people I had only known for a week, going nuts, and they didn't know why. We went back to one person's apartment in the 4th quarter and I made them turn the game on, and they still didn't know why. After Dion's pick 6 in OT, I ran out of the apartment yelling and trekked half a mile through the Columbus ghetto back to my place, and when Monday came around, they still didn't know why.

Today, they would know why. MACtion.

I still remember how that opening kickoff felt but thank God for Tyler Palko.  Remember, we love you, Tyler.

There was a palpable moan after the kickoff. Everyone was like "yep, we're gonna lose by 50". My how the times have changed!

Alan I am glad you have fond memories of the era of the green and white club and the $40 membership. When I watched that promo It made me realize how far we have come since those days. Other than some decent basketball teams as far as I am concerned the mid 70's to mid 90's was the low point for our athletic programs. As for the green and white club, it was never going to make an impact on the long term advancement and growth of the program. Actually it was doing just the opposite and needed to be retired.

I will take the Ohio Bobcat Club and our current athletic department any day. Perhaps only someone of my "ilk" would feel this way. :)
