Sorry, I believe the correct headline is "TOS to Akron?"

As I have predicted for the past five years, Akron's financial bubble has burst and the current prez is getting out before the posse comes to get him.  The university has record levels of debt, falling state support due to new funding model and declining enrollment.  It's only a matter of time before there is a financial emergency that dictates state intervention ( a la Ohio back in the early/mid 1970s).  Lowest student success rate in the state. Highest use of adjunct faculty. $61 million football stadium that will be a long-term drain on budgets.  Projected 6 to 7-percent decline in enrollment this fall.  Yet somehow Zips fans believe they're going to get a gleaming new basketball arena.

As a university president, he could be elected to the NCAA executive committee -- while he's under a show-cause order for NCAA rules violations.  Is this a great country or what!

How in the world could you go from football coach to college president in such a short span of time? Does he know anything about running a university?

One thing my grandfather used to say to me when I told him that a decision wasn't fair is that life is not a circus and its not a fair. Does Tressel belong as a university president with his moral compass? The answer is certainly no but it all comes down to the ability to fundraise and this guy potentially has it. For you McDavis detractors that is what he was brought on board to do; provide charismatic leadership and bring in the money. That is what he's accomplished and under his watched the school has raised more money than it has under its entire history prior to him becoming president. The world has witnessed stranger events than a guy like Tressel running a mid level state university.

Pretty good but Weiner II is not exceptionally unexpected.
