It's a guaranteed game for the MAC so that's better than nothing. Lets face it, TV money is all that was keeping this baby alive anyway, so ESPN is just cutting out the middleman. If it means more money for the participants , instead of some local organizing committee, it should be good.

What are the other bowls owned and operated by ESPN?

Whether its good news or not depends on whether ESPN thinks two 10-2 non BCS conference teams will sell more advertising than two 4-7 BCS conference teams.....

They also handle the Charleston Classic, Diamond Head Classic, Old Spice Classic, and Puerto Rico Tip-off, among a couple others on the basketball side.

Some people are just too impressed with awards.

I'm sure the decision to buy Tater was made pretty high up on the corporate food chain.  Disney wouldn't spend the money if it didn't think it was worthwhile.  And it should work out, so long as Disney Corporate keeps its hands off it.
