Just got back.......beautiful day for sure.....except the bridge is getting a makeover and the best way from or to downtown is thru the new student union.....marvelous place by the way......we tried the other side first and had to jump over the Hocking....well where it was and is now a creek...haha.

Just some random notes on a few positions/players.......some hard hitting....many starters not playing or just doin a few downs like Beau and TT....Arkley will have more of a complete report later.:

*RB.......Daz Patterson looked shiftier than last year.....true freshman Dorian Brown also did OK.

*QB/WR......Sprague played a bunch.....Windham looked good ....hit true fresham Cedric Brown with a TD toss.

*DB......lots of hard hitting here......Dyquan Stewart can put the crunch on people.

*DL.....probably the most impressive of the groups......Watson Tautuiaki looks like a DL and can hold his ground.....true freshman Tony Porter also quite the fireplug.......look for DT/DE Bennett to get some PT this year.....moves well for a big guy....also Basham (great name) at DE....the player that my friend and I came away the most impressed with was DL Cam McLeod....not only looked like the biggest lineman but could really move.

*OL.....bad news here in that Lucas Powell got hurt...snaps and such were perfect until he looked like he twisted an ankle.....rode off on a cart but it wasn't his knee and he didn't seem to be in a lot of pain...WR Wyattt down after a great catch....not sure about his status either.

Doc out.

Yes.

Good report, Doc.  You pretty much said the best thing when you said the DL has the people.

Thanks for the recap Doc. The injuries scare me. Reading somewhere that Coach Albin attributed it to the Bobcat Curse didn't set my mind at ease.

I just saw the Wyatt and Powell injuries....Arkley I think mentioned another.....both didn't seem year ending or career ending....with a couple weeks  to go let's hope they'll be ready for Lewisville.

The Powell injury is concerning. Center is the only line position where I was worried about depth. Our offense doesn't work if the center and QB aren't in sync.

Yeah.....and from the reports and what I saw yesterday he was doing a decent job.....some of the snaps after he left kinda sucked.

Per Jason Arkley tweets - "C Lucas Powell and WR Justin Wyatt both suffered ankle injuries in Wed. scrimmage. Per Solich, neither had a fracture.
Solich didn't rule out Powell for the opener on Sept. 1. Seemed less confident about Wyatt; termed his a high ankle sprain"
