I'm starting to see some schedule posters pop up from other schools and I realized I don't recall seeing one for Ohio previously. Is that something we do?

We used to, but I haven't seen one the past couple season. I remember hanging one up in my dorm freshman year (2008), but I don't think I've seen them since.

This is very costly.  Not from football, but if you do it for football you have to for every sport.

I think they were a lot more common (and necessary) before the Internet was so commonplace in the average person's life.  Toss in the widespread use of social media these days and I can imagine a lot of athletic departments have decided they can slash prices substantially by using online campaigns that can be developed and distributed for a fraction of the cost.  The graphic designer who was once doing the layout for the poster can do it for the banner ads, website splash page etc. and can post it pretty much it passes the AD's review process.

Working in PR and advertising I know I have this debate often on the value of printed media vs. digital and the digital usually wins if resources are limited.

I think these are paid for by a lot schools by corporate sponsors and not the athletic department. Because of this you do not need to cover all sports.

My office used to co-sponsor the posters for both UK football and men's basketball. Each of the posters would also have the company logo. They are very costly, but also very popular (at least here in KY). The only probablem for me, they're UK...

realize there is a cost associated with it but these types of posters hung in businesses, offices, dorm rooms, etc are a good way to promote ticket sales and the program in general.

If the costs require sponsorship then I wonder why we haven't obtained one as these types of articles ranking schools' posters are pretty common and suggest that many or most schools have them.

I wish we would create one, especially now that we have some "braggables" to put on them such as our bowl wins.  I had a poster with Dontrell Jackson, Chad Brinker etc. from the 2000 season and a few others but I think its been a while since they were produced.

I came across a link to these desktop schedule posters today -

There are three different versions here - http://collegespun.com/quick-hits/ohio-bobcats-2013-schedule-posters#

I'm pretty sure the schedule posters went by way of budget cuts the same year they ditched the printed media guides. It's a shame, but can understand them being costly to do for every single sport.

That's a very nice "poster" that apparently "went to press" before the Louisville game was moved to Sept.  1.  When was that; about 4 months ago?

Details like this haunt this program, even though I think I know this is not an "official" item.
