Some rabid tools from OSU have taken the time to create accounts on ubfan.com just so they can cleverly call us "retards" and tell us to go "watch gay porn in our parent's basements". (Sorry if this offends anyone but I'm sure you're used to it residing in the same state as these idiots), How do you put up with crap? Are they always this bad?

Yea, they're pretty miserable people. Most of whom have no actual connection with the school.

Yep. The school has some alums who are actually intelligent and reasonable fans, some of whom I am friendly with. Then the remainder (and bulk) of their fans are like those on your board, many of whom have probably never seen the inside of an academic building on any campus. Kick the snot out of them!

I love the part where the guys says they added THE to the school name when "the university broadened it's perspective to becoming a world class institution'. literally LOL'd at that nonsense.

On a radio interview yesterday, Kirk Herbstreit said he refuses to use "The."  Says he just refers to his school as Ohio State.  Feels "The" is arrogant.  And here is a quote on why he felt compelled to move his family from Columbus: "Eighty to ninety percent of the Ohio State fans are great. It's the vocal minority that make it rough. They probably represent only 5 to 10 percent of the fan base, but they are relentless."  Personally, I think his calculation ratio is pretty forgiving.

We're in agreement over that ratio. Every school has a couple of moronic trolls who go around making their institution look bad. Most fanbases are embarrassed by these individuals. In OSU's case it seems the opposite where the fools are the norm and you become more surprised when one shows up that isn't a complete idiot.

BTW, you guys seem like easy money with that ridiculous line against UL. Not to mention, UCONN just showed us how tough this new AAC truly is. Please don't blow it, for the sake of the MAC and my wallet. Good luck.

I sit right behind the visiting bench at Ohio football games, Clodney, and I was impressed with your team last season. They played fast, hard and physical that day. The staff coached up the players from the opening kickoff to the final whistle. They were business like and poised. The players seemed focused and connected with the staff. There was little, if any, foul language. The impression left with me is that Buffalo is a program with the ingredients in place to move up in the MAC standings.

As a side note, I ran into several players in Akron when I was there for Ohio's basketball game. I enjoyed talking with them for a few minutes about off season conditioning and the football game in Athens. They were there to support the UatB women's team that played the Zips just ahead of the Ohio/Akron men's game.

Good luck today vs. OSU. I live in Columbus and there has been little talk about your team or this game. Most of the talk is around how Ohio State's incoming freshmen have the speed to help take this team to a national title.
Fans here see the home game vs. Wisconsin as the first real test, and, the games vs. Northwestern and Michigan as the only ones that could derail a run to the Big 10 championship game.

It takes a lot of things to go right for a MAC school to go into a Big Ten stadium and give themselves a chance to win in the fourth quarter. I think you have the ingredients. Mack is a great playmaker and you have lots of juniors and seniors in the defensive two deep.   Oliver and Neutz are a good complement with an offense  that has pretty good balance between rushing and passing. Your QB is young, but has some experience.

Simple game plan to stay in it -- long drives for both teams to shorten the game. Minimize the turnovers. Don't allow big plays on special teams. Easier said than done, but you have the ingredients.

Also don't shank 19 yard punts and get burnt on the muddle huddle twice in 5 minutes

The first drive was looking alright, but that's about it so far.
