They didn't seem to care about shocking the world with an upset.

They didn't seem to care about playing the game, period.  That was a horrible performance in all phases of the game.  They'll be lucky to get to 6-6 this season if that's all the effort they're going to give.

Even on the takeaways.  Not lots of penalties. Offensive line didn't panic.  Not much pressure on our QB's.  Middle of the field pass defense pretty good.  Boykin. Defense against the run.  Tackling after the first quarter was good.

Not so good.  Flag pattern coverage and corners getting toasted. Kicking game.

This could have been much uglier.  Lots of sacks and lots of coughing it up.

Hopefully no injuries.  Troy game was much worse ass whooping as they weren't facing a Heisman candidate or two (Auburn transfer) and a ninth ranked team in the New Orleans Bowl--that was supposed to be an even match up.

It would have been nicer to see a Buffalo vs O$U result but a loss is a loss. Don't dispair.  Think of O$U vs Florida in a National Championship where offensive lineman couldn't even move quickly enough to hold a rusher and the QB got killed.  Lots of good teams have been whooped.

looked like the same effort we gave at the end of the 2013 regular season when we lost 3 in a row.

I was most discouraged by our attitude and approach today.  It was like everyone got together before leaving Athens agreeing to concede defeat before pulling out of town.  Our play did not suggest our players believed they belong, that they wanted to send a message to the country and the MAC.  Someone else mentioned that Buffalo vs. A&M game where the Beefs at least put up a strong effort.  Louisville will win a lot of games-maybe run the table, but we should have given them more of a game today.  I felt like I was watching a team from the Knorr era.

I could go on and on but the bottom line is we cannot let the Cardinals beat us twice.  I want to view this game as a wake up call, sending our entire program through an all you can eat buffet of humility, giving them total focus on North Texas and showing Bobcat nation that that kind of performance will not happen again this year.  They should not lose again like that again this year.  Let's not give up on our team but let them know that today is unacceptable and we know they won't lay an egg like that again.

Lots of football left-let's move on and start anew.

I'm not nearly as worried about not having received my tower club season tickets yet.

We're going to be fine.  However, this team would have gotten beat by PSU last season.  We' could probably use another 2 weeks of summer camp.  Need to clean up a lot in 1 week.  Luckily, we have the coaches that know how to prepare this team and we'll learn from our mistakes.  Yhe talent is there, just poorly executed today.  Don't give up on this team.

Before I hear, "fire the coach". Before I hear, "this season is over". Before I hear, "put Vick in as QB." I need to hear, " We played a legit #9 team and got our ass handed to us. However, we will bounce back. This was just a first, non-MAC game. We have two tough ones at home coming up. Let's support our Cats, and let's go forward. We will play equal competition next week at home. We will see more of what we can do. Louisville has NO ONE on their schedule this year so they were very ready for the Bobcats. Most said OHIO was the hardest team on their schedule so they were very focused. We will have a good season, but we have much to do. I don't think Northern would have fared much better against the Cardinals. Iowa and Louisville are much different teams. I'm disappointed by today's game, We got beat. We got beat bad. We handled it with class and learned a lot about our team.

I'm done.

I will say I'm glad I had to work and thus missed the game, but wasn't too surprised or depressed from the score (had I been watching it live I can guarantee plenty of screaming at the tv followed by alcoholism).  Louisville is #9 for a reason and they have a Heisman candidate for a reason.  It would have been awesome had we beaten them.  Though the only out of conference game I want to see us win is Marshall (*@#$ Marshall!!!!), I want to see us dominate the conference, which if we have no injuries I see happening.  We might have played conservative (and so that story begins yet again) to keep our players healthy and our playbook for this year hidden.  As always Go Bobcats GO OHIO!!!!

I was very impressed with Louisville and with Bridgewater. I didn't believe all the hype before the game, but give them credit where credit's due. They made a believer out of me. Unfortunately for them, their schedule is extremely weak. They probably won't end up in the top 5 unless they not only run the table, but do so by winning each game as convincingly as they won today.

As for the Bobcats, what can you really say? It was a painful game to watch, After the Cards scored their 5th touchdown, I just hoped it would not be a shutout. At least it wasn't that.

I agree that OHIO can't dwell on this loss. There was nothing "good" about this game. Burn the film. Forget it. As they've already said, no regrets. Just go back to winning. The real goal of a MAC championship is still out there for this year, but it has to be earned.

If Lou runs the table, they'll be top three.  Didja hear the love for Bridgewater yesterday.  TV will make it so if they run it.

I agree that we didn't play OHIO ball, that we came in overly conservative in an attempt to keep it close so that we could, perhaps, sneak out one at the end.  That is what is really upsetting--the lack of gusto.  OHIO teams do not do that.

It's over.  On to the next one.

The next two games will be about player leadership as talent develops.
