An article in the Athens Messenger says there is a big surprise for fans planning to attend the North Texas game. Upgraded places to buy more food and drink and TV's are going to be offering live feed of the game being played. I'm not sure if this will meet the NFL service standard but its good news to hear.

The #1 upgrade I would like to see is a new scoreboard/Video board..

A new much larger video board in the endzone between the corner sections to make the stadium look more like a horseshoe. Keep the old scoreboard on the other end. I like the idea of this. A good way to connect the corner seats together visually plus could add to the acoustics of the stadium. It makes the stadium feel more exciting.

Trying not to throw stones here, but it says a $150,000.00 investment was made for the upgrade. That doesn't seem like that much. But, from the stories we've had on this board, every little bit helps. Unless more money was added via the university or privately?

I'll take what I can get, especially a hot dog and Pepsi after half-time that doesn't make me miss the whole third quarter.

From the story the vendor AVI is paying for the upgrade. Their contract likely came up this year for renewal and the athletic department puts some pressure on them to improve the experience if they wanted to stay in business. Jim Schaus has talked about improving the concessions as long as he's been here and the major impediment might have been a long term concessions contract signed into place by the one and only Thomas Boeh.

I would rather see it replace the current scoreboard. If you put it between the endzone sections nobody sitting in those sections would probably be able to view it. Put a new one on Victory Hill and move the old one between the two endzone sections.

Upgraded food sounds good.

Sounds great. Proof will be in the Pudding. Will the dogs/drinks go up a buck? Actually - would OK by me if I could get one in less than 20 minutes. Not that exited about potential of concessions hawkers up and down the aisles - blocking my view while some dude passes his $50 down the row - then we pass his pop down to him. then his change - then right after all that someone else decides they want a mess 'o cotton candy....guess we'll see.

Glad I read all the parking cluster info - better leave cowtown even sooner than originally planned. That roundabout looks to be a clogged up mess tomorrow.

AVI is actually the 3rd private vendor we have had since Tom Boeh and this is the second time that AVI has had the contract. I am interested to see these upgrades when I come in for the Marshall game, however from the $$$ amount and knowing the layout of the superstructure, I would imagine we will be looking at another stand and a couple of Kiosk under the North EZ, and according to the release a few new seat vendors.

And I noticed in the ticket packet that they mentioned an ATM at the stadium. Another bitch taken care of, maybe.
