K Moore was sprinting to the QB on a blitz when an OL stepped back hard on his ankle just as KM was making a cut through the hole with all of his weight on it. How does Sano stop a 350lb tackle from doing that?
Sam Johnson pulled to block the edge on a run play when an Ohio OL pancaked a Lville DL onto the side of his leg. How does Sano stop 600lbs+ of linemen from doing that?
This says it all. We are playing football here. A tough, physical game. Big bodies flying around at top speed, running in to one another. As a former player, Super Iron Bobcat, Exercise Physiology Major, former Strength and Conditioning coach, I can say will full confidence...it is not the strength program.
Sano, along with his staff, does a great job of keeping up with the newest S&C techniques as well as sticking with is tried and true. There is absolutely nothing that you can do in the weight room that will prevent these injuries. Take a look at the NFL. Every year you have countless ACL tears, sprained ankles, shoulders, broken bones etc....it's football. It happens.
(I read this site daily. First post on here....figured I would comment on what I know)
At the end of the day GO BOBCATS. It's time to win the MAC.
