Can the Zips really win in the Big House?

The Zips should have won that game.  Great game!

No idea. That was huge, too, because with a bit more time you can bunch and try to just get the first, potentially get another crack or two. Heck of a game though. That kicker must be despondent.

I lost my voice cheering for the Zips--what composure they all had.   Too bad the Zip QB didn't have the angle we had watching TV.  If he had he should have dropped back another 5-7 yards to take the snap and he'd of had 4 wide open receivers with Michigan sellling out on the blitz.

Would be interesting to see an isolation camera on the intended receiver and see if he was held.

Too bad the Akron players much like Ohio will have to live forever with what may have been....

They weren't suppose to put time back on the clock, the announcers were wrong.

Shows we can't take them for granted.  They picked apart Mich's zone, and could do the same to us.  If they can avoid the letdown vs LA-Laf next week, they could go into BGSUcks at 2-2.  Could be no worse than 2-3 when we see them in Oct.

It reminded me of when we went to 20th-ranked Kansas St in 1997 and lost 23-20 on a late score.  K-St's players looked exhausted and emotionally drained after the game while our guys were just plain jacked.  We wound up 8-3 that season.  Of course, we went into the game 2-0 after beating Kent and Maryland, but half of winning in any sport is believing you can do it.  I think Akron's starting to believe.

I agree. The only way I'd have expected them to put time back on was if they made Michigan take a timeout for the natured player. Not sure of the rules re: when you have to call a time out. Otherwise I thought they got that one right. Some bad Pas Interference calls though. Oh well... Stupid Marsupials.

The future terms of MAC vs Big Ten-Want us to come to your place to play--"We'll take a million and require SEC refs or no deal!"

Was there really irrefutable evidence to overturn the first down call on the field?

I'd have to say it was the right call, but reviewing the play ultimately cost Akron time because they were set to go when the replay was called for and then it took them several seconds to get the play off after the replay. Had it been ruled short right away, I'm sure they would have called their timeout.

Ultimately, Akron missed too many chances to win a game like that. Missed field goal, interception in the end zone and then coming up short on two plays when they reached the 1.

Two missed field goals, even. Hard to believe they were in it the way they were when you add it all up.
