I think I've seen more "For Sale" threads this week than I've ever seen.  Shouldn't we all be going to the game, not giving the folks from Huntington a chance to get inside our house?

(Disclaimer - I know a number of you intend to not sell to Marshall fans)

Keep up the good work.  I ended up with 4 tickets, 45 yard line, row 2... right in the OU section.  There are 4 other Herd fans i know with tickets in row 3.

Ohhh the kelly green will be abundant again.  I'm expecting a solid 5k, maybe even 6k.  Should be exciting.

I gave mine away, but stipulated the recipient be all OHIO. I'm sad to be missing this game because it is no doubt the most fun home game we have, but I have some long held plans that I plan to keep. I will be tuned in and loud, just not in person.

8pm start time equals 11:30p on the road home, for some a non-starter.

I understand why you all travel to this game given that every other road game is 2000 miles away.  That said, I think it's the role of season ticket holders, as well as local fans, to not sell their tickets to the opposing team's fans, regardless of the opponent.  I "hate" Marshall, but I truly do wish they were still in the MAC. I'd much rather have them than UMass.

I live in North Canton.  On Sunday the 15th, my wife Lynne and two sisters are hosting a bridal shower for my son's fiancee - lives in Cleveland Heights - in my hometown of Shelby.

Lynne asked if I wanted to go along for the ride.  As I don't expect to be home from the game till about 2 a.m., I declined.  She wasn't at all surprised.  She knows ORIM (Old Rusting Iron Man as my daughter anointed me some years ago) will need some vegging time.

If i were an OU fan, I'd be upset that season ticket holders were selling their tickets away to the enemy.

You're right about why MU travels very well to OU.... we will also travel that well to VT the following weekend.  It's taxing, physically and financially, to attend away games in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, etc.

We get excited to travel to away games like we used to be able to do every other weekend.  Looking forward to a good atmosphere.

BTW, how many does Peden hold?  I saw there are only like 500 tix left on the official Ohio.edu site; looks like it should sell out.

Gettin 3 from an Ohio cheerleader.

Not sure why there's so many on the market though.

I thought I saw on the site only 200 so remain. This should prove to be an awesome game.

I am not too concerned. In the past, fans not using tickets may have been more willing to let their tickets go unused completely... With a record/capacity crowd expected, it is now worthwhile to actually move unused tickets to people interested.... Because there are people interested! And it isnt just away fans... This is a good thing.

Marshall will bring a good crowd. That is fine. It adds to the atmosphere. Ohio had a great crowd in Huntington last year. I was with a large group of Ohio fans right in the middle of Marshall's horseshoe end zone seating because we bought tickets through their ticket office. It was great.

I knew this was the one Saturday home game I couldn't make when I bought season tickets. I was disappointed then and I am disappointed now. I moved those tickets to some other Ohio fans. I will be there in spirit and will also be checking my phone quite a bit at a wedding.

The only green that matters is the cold hard cash variety.  I suspect some buying of tickets for the sole purpose of the secondary market.  Would not even be surprised if Athletics themselves have sold some of their own seats on the secondary market (check a few sites, way too many tickets in large blocks or concentrated areas to be random ticket buying fans who are "not" able to make the game.  This is a practice way more common than you may think.

Check out the ticketcrush.com posted by the bobcatballa (just created handle this week), all listings are within rows 2-15 in the same section, for a total of 128 seats in those rows.  Someone is either speculating or the department is trying to double sell their own seats.

There have been 5-6 offers of tickets on here.  Is that really a crisis?

Agreed with Optimist, most of these tickets previously would've been unused. Now there's enough demand to make it worthwhile to offer them. It's a good thing, if not a great thing, to have a strengthening secondary market for our tickets.

I imagine it wouldn't be too hard for this game to buy tix at the group rate and then sell them for the $35 rate.

I suppose it depends on how you look at it.  I'd hate to see our ticket office selling prime seats to "the enemy" but I can also see the argument for the "cold hard cash" factor.  I like the creation of a serious home field/home court advantage, and while it is up to OUr fans to create that, it's also something Ohio Athletics should try to do as well.

Crisis, no.  But it still seems more than the norm.

I purchased 100 tickets for our company tailgate.  I had a few left and have sold most on this site to Bobcat fans only (I hope).

Seeing the fruition of a secondary market is a great sign of the upswing of Bobcat Football.  I also believe it is a beginning indicator that some ticket pricing could be increased slightly.

Not sure how you are getting tickets from an Ohio Cheerleader since they do not get any tickets to the home games, nor does the band or dance team.

Your ticket office and fans are glad to sell us the tickets.  What program wouldn't be happy about it?  Not only are they happy about it, but Herd fans are getting emails from your ticket office and we are even getting personal phone calls from your ticket office asking if we would like to buy more tickets and telling us that they hope we had a good time in Athens on our last trip.  I doubt you get many teams that sell their entire allotment of tickets and then their fans still want more.  Your ticket office loves The Herd.

If you've purchased tickets from our ticket office before, your name goes into a lead pool as a potential return customer regardless of whom you support. Our ticket office is not directly targeting Marshall fans. I get the same calls from Miami because I purchased OU @ Miami basketball tickets from their website.

I didn't say they were directly targeting Marshall fans.  The point is that they know we are Marshall fans and are still calling us.  They aren't going to not market to us just because we are "the enemy" as some have said Ohio should do.

I wish I could get UMASS/UCONN/BC to stop calling me!  Great job ticket sales team, hope we get an advanced sellout!

Yep, that stuff happens. I just got a robocall today from Penn State, and all I bought from them last year was a parking pass.

I got the same call from Penn State today. Our sales team just wants to sell tickets, no matter who buys them. I bought 36 for this game because I live in WV and a lot of clients and some of my best friends are Marshall alumni. I will give 26 of my 36 tickets to MU fans and they will all be sitting in OU sections. When I go to Marshall, sometimes they reciprocate and I sit in a non-visitor section. I may have 2-4 extras when kickoff rolls around. I'll sell them to whoever wants them, regardless of the shade of green they're wearing.

I love the playful banter some are bringing to the board this week, but I don't understand how either team's fans think their team is far superior to the other. These teams are pretty even, and lately our football and basketball programs have been closely matched. I love the regional rivalry and enjoy going to both cities for the games.

Got the robocall from PSU today also.  The only things I bought from them were two tickets to last year's game.  I'm also a representative of "the enemy" that beat them last year.  They didn't care.  They called me anyway.  I hung up about halfway through the sales pitch.

Go OHIO!
After Saturday . . . Go Marshall!
