Is that still true?  I know it was discussed pre-season and the consensus was it was a bad idea.

A number of Herd fans always bring RVs to tailgate.  Where will they be?

Don't know how you can argue with this decision given the elimination of hundreds of parking spaces due to construction.  There's simply no other place to put them.

I know they had to make a temporary change due to the construction projects.  If I was planning the parking, I would eliminate the 50% of wasted, open space (including the absolutely awful band that produced headaches for 2 hours) in Tailgreat Park.  They could fit an extra 100 cars in Tailgreat, create a real game day atmosphere and the 100 spaces that would be freed up at the Convo could be used for RVs and other loyal fans and tailgaters.

According to the back of my parking pass, RV parking is at the Ridges and behind the left field fence of the baseball field in the physical plant parking lot.

By my calculations, the golf course behind Ping takes up approximately 1/5 of the total athletic area real estate. That space would be prime space for additional tailgating/outdoor athletic fields for all students given its proximity to Peden and Ping. Perhaps the golf course could be moved to the open land on W Union? This sounds anti-golf, but it is really more about using that prime space for more universal purposes.

All for 4-5 games a year?  Or just to accommodate RVs?  Some of the lots will be coming back online in time, so really don't see why we have to move golf holes.  Instead, invest that money in actually irrigating the course!

All for 4-5 games a year? People could say the same thing about spending to upgrade concessions. Or stadium expansion. Or even operating a stadium for that matter.

I think that space could serve as additional intramural/student athletics fields and double as outdoor space for athletic events (tailgates, receptions, overflow parking) when needed.

That space serves many students as well as factory and staff.

This almost deserves it's own thread.

Just an fyi ... as of this morning, there are yellow signs at the entrances of the Convo parking lot that say "No RVs. Violators will be ticketed/towed." I imagine the other lots near the stadium have the same warnings posted. Plan accordingly.

Thanks for the info. And thanks to Parking Services for another job well done.

I like the golf course where it is. Very accessible to students without cars. I used to walk from East Green to the course to play. Also, it's very pretty from the highway with the course in the foreground and the campus behind it.
