Of all of the people we should be complaining about, the people that actually show and sit in the stands on game day ain't it.

if you see someone sitting quietly on the Tower side don't yell at them for being quiet, thank them for coming out and supporting the Bobcats.

Yup. It's the OZone rule.

The 110/alumni band marching off the field through EMU's bench at homecoming (in 2003? I think it was 2003) didn't help.

I was in the OZone for that one. It was 2002 actually. Ohio was 1-5 at that point but had a huge lead on Eastern Michigan at halftime. The band actually got a personal foul penalty and the students chanted, "It won't matter." Not sure the halftime score but the final was 55-27. Chad Brinker had four touchdowns.

Yep, that's the game I'm thinking of. I thought it was 2003 b/c I thought I was a junior before I saw us win a game in person.........but apparently homecoming sophomore year was it.

Supporting the Bobcats?

I am sorry, but showing up possibly not even wearing Green, not cheering for a single Ohio play (even the touchdowns!) and complaining when other people do cheer is not supporting the Bobcats. Sure, if they are season ticket holders they donated $75 bucks to the OBC. $75 isn't enough to excuse you from actual support of the Bobcats at games. You need to be captain level or higher to activate the "optional cheering" perk of OBC membership.

There are a lot of people who have an extreme amount of pride in this school. That is in contrast to many of these people, whoever they are, who do not care one bit about Ohio University.

I get real tired of this narrative.  I drive three hours each way to see games and people give me crap about not standing on defense at the Convo and screaming loudly enough at football games?  Get a life.

You're right. I drive 468mi from New Jersey to Athens and yell myself hoarse on 3rd down defensive plays and try to stay ominously silent while OHIO is running their offense.
I have no life.

My opinion is we're pretty much better off with an empty seat than a non-participant.

How can you put in the fine effort to drive six hours for games but not put in any effort to support an institution that we all know that you love when you get there?

From the perspective of the players--OUr guys--on the field, you might as well be an empty seat.

Aren't you emotionally involved at all?

Do you get roused at any points during the game....since you say 'enough' then perhaps you're into it at some points...if so,what gets you going?

I don't care about people watching the game silently, seated, just don't complain about people who DO Stand Up And Cheer! (Not implying that you do that SBH, just speaking generally)

you're way out of line, the people INSIDE Peden Stadium are not the problem. Its all of the ones that aren't there that you should be concerned with. I'm sorry if they don't dress and act like YOU think they should, but their butt in a seat is more than a lot of Bobcat fans do to support the team.

They dont' care about OU? They're not hobos that wandered in off the street looking for a hot meal, they are Bobcat fans AT THE GAME. What part of that do you not understand?

It takes all types of people to grow a fan base, I hope you fail miserably at your attempt to drive off those you deem unworthy.

I was yelled at all game in section 123 for standing up and cheering for our Bobcats.  I am at a loss.  Our fans and Marshall fans both degrading me and my friends.  I really could care less, but if you want to sit down and watch the game then go home and watch it on tv.

At the same time, if you're going to a sporting event, you should be prepared for others to stand up and make noise. Telling others to sit down and pipe down is also out of line.
