Yes I know this is early but oh well. One has Ohio in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl playing Boise St. The other has the Cats in Detroit against Minnesota.

This week I was thinking about Ohio ending up in San Diego. It makes a lot of sense for Ohio if the team doesn't win the MAC East instead of returning to the Potato Bowl. For whatever reason I do feel good about winning the MAC this season so is San Diego an option if the Cats do? To play Boise State in a bowl game would be great for increasing the profile of our program.

In theory any MAC team can end up anywhere, it all kind of depends on our three bowl tie-ins and the MAC commissioner's office. Those three bowls get to choose whatever teams don't make the BCS. So if one of those bowls wants us, the MAC commissioners office would have to somehow convince that bowl to leave us alone to pursue another bowl game. If I recall that has happened at least one other time in the past to a MAC team. Usually its not that hard to do if there is another comparable MAC team whose fans travel just as well as the other team's would have.
