I really like some of the points that Ozcat and Bandit made.  Court Street is tough to pass up.  It is a fun place to watch games and you have way more freedom than at Peden.  Here are a few other points, feel free to comment:

- The whole argument that PSU and V-Tech are in college towns and their fans don't leave has no weight in arguing OU.  Many of those students grew up fans of those teams, and the culture at those places is football crazy.  Few OU students apply being Bobcat fans, so it is a transition for them to become die hard fans.  Some people don't even become die hards until after graduation.  We are on our way to having that culture yet, but until we do, we have to do other things to keep the fans.

- Beer will not happen in the near future, I think we saw that with the whole debacle with the OBC last year when they were going to serve it and then it got pulled.  This would help keep students even if the beers were $5.  It makes the games better for the casual fan.  The way you make die hard fans is by taking casual fans and showing them a great time.

- Football games are long.  This isn't an excuse, but it means you have to engage the fans in some way shape or form.  The play on the field is a big part, but sometimes you need to be creative.   I think a good place to start would be utilizing the 3rd quarter break.  It won't be an attraction like the 110, but think of a new tradition or promotion that people can't wait for.  It may atleast keep them there until the 4th...

- If you go to any school, not all students turn out to the game, and many of them are by choice.  I have friends at plenty of schools that are huge fans but don't go to the games.  They watch them at home or a bar with friends.  That group exists everywhere.

- If we have 8,000 students at a game, 1/3 of our crowd is students......at most stadiums the number is closer to 1/10.  My point is if students leave at larger schools, it goes almost unoticed, but if they do it at OU, a huge part of the crowd is gone....

FIRE AWAY!!!

One major positive of our contract with ESPN is to relive the atmosphere and watch the entire reply on ESPN 3

A lot of people take pride in the party school ranking. Well, how do you think that culture happens? People prioritize partying over almost everything else. It happens to football games, it happens to family gatherings... it happens to pretty much everything that is going on in Athens on Friday and Saturday night. I don't see that changing.

Wisconsin and WVU are always in the top of the party school rankings. They party before and after their football games and show up in large numbers. We don't have that culture and I'm not sure we ever will.

In my opinion, there is not a lot better than a day like this past Saturday. We partied with around 80-100 people for 8 hours before the game in the tailgate lot. It was a perfect early Autumn day. If people want a party on both sides of a football game, it can be easily done.

Many accurate opinions on this board.  Everytime I come back to Athens with fellow alums, I have a hard time getting my buddies to leave Court Street to even get to the game.  The draw of uptown is real, and honestly, who here doesn't understand that.  I've had fond experiences at the Pub that I've never gotten from Peden.  It is what it is.

Better opponents would help, no doubt.  IMO, we still haven't had that breakthrough win in football that can elevate ones committment and passion.

We have had that monumental win in basketball: multiple times, and recently.  Those types of victories stay with you for a long, long time.  If you've noticed, we don't have a mass exodus from the Convo at the half ever.

Step back from the ledge, and just appreciate how far the program has actually come.  I remember the 0-11 days, and they were god awful.

So, what type of activity would you like to have happen at your old Peden?
