Well no he's not scared of them. He's not going to have to pay for it.. They will just put Tennessee on probation for what he did.

When I moved off campus at OHIO I was sometimes hungry. I mean, not starving, but wished I had more to eat. I thought that was what college is all about. Of course, if I needed beer, I'd go to Sarah Tech and sell my blood. This is all part of the "Biggies" trying to separate themselves from the rest of college football. If they want to go PRO, let them. However; they should be known as Semi-Pro - non students who cannot make it in the NFL. This is what the Buckeyes and the like are anyway. We should be known as college football. We also should not play these schools in any other sports - even though they will not be compensated like football and basketball.

Back in the day Ohio football players often had university jobs (e.g., student janitor, etc.) that they got paid for but didn't necessarily have to show up for on a regular basis.  As a former student janitor myself I have some first-hand knowledge about this fact.  I'm fairly sure though that these guys are protected by the statute of limitations at this juncture.

Chump change, peanuts.........not compared to our big in-state agricultural school.  I was told that back in the day years back, certain players would be car salesman each summer. It was amazing how many cars they sold to alumni. Commissions paid, taxes paid, all legal as far as the IRS. Perhaps it happened, perhaps not but my friend back in the 80s said he knew about instances. The dollar amount was substantial he thought. So a janitor's salary in comparison,....not even close. Doesn't make either right of course.

If they actually showed up and they actually sold the cars, what is the issue?

The car dealership connection to OSU has been well documented and it happened 20 - 30 years ago.  May have been merely unsavory then, as opposed to a major NCAA violation today.  Over many years, all these things contributed to the environment that we have today, which, IMHO, is totally unworkable/unenforcable and probably a creates a competitive disadvantage for any program that really, truly follows all the rules.

Hmmm......first day on the job 10 alumni march in the door and buy expensive cars. Yeah, nothing technically illegal but all the other salespeople are drooling with envy and wishing they were football or basketball players. To use one's position for financial gain like that is wrong in my book.
