Their game with UC was 0-0 after three quarters. The last time a 1-A game was 0-0 after three? Yep, Miami vs Akron in 2007.

Today:
Miami had 87 total yards on offense.
Miami was 0-11 on third downs.
Miami averaged 0.2 yards per rush.
Miami went for it on 4th-and-26 from the UC 36. They didn't make it.

For the season:
Miami hasn't scored an offensive point in 10 quarters.
Miami is 3-40 on third downs.
Miami is averaging 1.7 yards a carry.
Miami has 448 yards of total offense.

Senior classes are allowed to total wins for the previous five seasons. 2011 had, I believe, 37, at the time the record. 2012 then achieved something like 40. Can it be that 2013 already has 39?  Added this on my fingers and toes. I could be wrong. Used the wins shown in the Solich bio, AP Game Notes.

And that was with two weeks of prep time.

Five years would mean 2008's 4-win total would've dropped off, and we have won 3 so far this season, so yes, those numbers sound correct.

Their leading receiver is on a pace to catch 24 passes for the season.  I don't know who they miss most: Dysert or Harwell.

Miami fans are loving the fact that Treadwell calls about 15 pass plays a game and blames dropped passes for the reason they lose.

Along that same line, 94 teams are averaging more points per game than Fiami has scored in total this season (21).

I'm enjoying this as much as anyone but it remains that for many people, especially in the Midwest, M^%$# is still the face of the MAC in football.

They are probably at the top of the list of MAC teams that casual fans can actually name and place in the conference, No Illinois, being a shooting star and, maybe, Toledo are others.  I don't think Ohio is on that list yet.

The conference as a whole will suffer until M%$#@ gets its stuff in a pile again.

Very true - it's not good for MAC teams to embarrass themselves and be mentioned in this way, especially not our most tradition-rich teams. Schadenfreude aside, it would be fun if somehow Ohio and Miami could be good at the same time.

One thing their schedule does for them is put them before larger crowds and on real TV networks.  So far this season they've been on CBSSN (v. Terd) and FSN/ESPN Gameplan (UK), and they'll be on BTN tomorrow.  But their best game so far was on ESPN3 (Cincy).  It doesn't do the MAC much good when they -- or any MAC team (like us vs. L'ville) -- have a poor performance on the bigger stage.

How does a coach get fired instantly?

Lose to redhawk.

No.

I mean instantly.  As in during the game:  Give up points to redhawk.

No, giving up points is acceptable giving up 250 yards a game to this Fiami team is firable at this time. I know they may click and get 300 yards one game, but the coach that lets that happen will likely get sacked.

For anyone who wants to PM me, I could give a good critique of Fiami after that drive, basically it boils down to this their coaching sucks.

Move aside EMU and UMASS, I think Miami is officially the worst team in the MAC right now. Have got to think that Treadwell's seat is getting VERY hot!

Illinois went for 2, got it, then immediately kicked and recovered an onside kick.

In the first half.

We've already seen two coaches lose their jobs early in the season... I wonder if the Hawks are in the running?

I wonder sometimes if the MAC is their season.  Their OOC schedule doesn't serve as a good basis for a winning year, so a coach's success may hinge on how they do in the MAC.  They're only 6-10 in the MAC under Treadwell but if he can come up with a five or six-win season, he might still be around next year.

I love and admire Miami's bravery in OOC scheduling. I'd like Ohio to build up to that sort of schedule in the next few years. But  they're scheduling as if Ben Roethlisberger is suiting up at QB for them. They need to look at throttling down for three or four years, get out of a couple payday games the next few seasons and try to rebuild this thing...probably sans Treadsell.
