I drove from Athens to Colorado Springs in 21 hours and 45 minutes, but I hit a light in Gallipolis so that slowed me down.

Man you were heading the wrong direction.

And SBH, the Parkersburg bypass actually takes me 6 minutes less.  Drove the old route for 25+ years on a weekly basis but agreed, some folks on her should signup for NASCAR.

Who's her?

RS Bobcat . . . one of my memories of our trip to that famous lake, other than my uncle's notorious driving, was that a cousin and I literally changed the course of the Mississippi River.  The two of us together with our Army surplus shovels spent about an hour digging a new channel and blocking the old one with rocks and mud.  Having been there you'll understand how "monumental" a task that was.

Prolly would not have taken much longer with plastic kiddie beach toy shovels!

We were too old and too sophisticated for that.  We were at least 9 or 10 at the time.
