The nation's two rustiest scoring machines go head-to-head Saturday in Amherst -- #122 Fiami (8.8 ppg) and #123 UMass (7.0 ppg).  What will be the final score?  My prediction is 2-0 in 4OTs.  The winning points will be scored when one of the teams (it really doesn't matter which one) goes for a long field goal and a high snap sails past the holder, and after several minutes of being fumbled and kicked around lands in the kicking team's own end zone where an O lineman falls on it for a safety.

UMass wins by forfeit 1-0 when Fiami cannot find the field in the vast, empty stadium.

They could bill it as the world's largest punting clinic. That could boost attendance.

Fiami's interim HC is supposedly installing a completely new offense (out with the triple option, in with passing). So we'll either see Fiami's offense explode, or UMass's defense outscore Fiami.

3-0 UMass in 3 OT

This reminds me years ago when Kansas and Kansas State had the two worst teams in D1 college football.  I remember telling a friend I thought it would end in a 0-0 tie.  I was wrong, it ended in a 7-7 tie.  Too bad we can't have ties today.  Some games just deserve to end in a tie.

Yes, my bad.  I thought they were back at Amherst but it turns out they'll be at Gillette Saturday.  UMass claimed only 16,000 for the Vandy game; they'll be in EMU territory for this one.

The Pats play there at 4:30 Sunday, so they'll need to hose the stadium down with Febreeze Saturday night.

This is the kind of game where both offenses are so exceptionally putrid leading up to the game, that they find their one shining moment and explode.

UMass 44
Miami 41

Surprisingly, neither team made the Bottom Ten, though both are on the wait list. The MAC was represented though, by "Directional U" at #3, a combo of EMU, CMU, and WMU. A former MAC team, Temple, powered it's way to #7.

UMass vs Miami is the Pillow Fight of the Century so far.  I predict they light up the scoreboard...UM - 9  MU - 6 - UMass leading 7-6, with no time on the clock, ends the agony by adding insurance-points by returning a would-be game-winning 2-point conversion coast to coast in front of a handful of snoring fans, a sleeping band, confused cheerleaders and a select few of the players' family and friends.

Believe it or not, I plan to go to the game to cheer against the Redskins, so I'll update the thread with the lack of scoring as it doesn't progress.

You know what' a wonderful thing?  I forgot the Bottom Ten even existed.  I used to check it religiously under the last regime.  Haven't looked at it in years.

THANK YOU FRANK!

Honestly, I feel like Miami will have something resembling a competent offense after clearing house.

UMass gets a last second Rouge to pull out a 3-2 victory.

I'll take "Muck Fiami" for $1,000, Alex.

New Bottom 10 is up. Fiami is at #3, UMass is at #4.

This seems appropriate.

The MAC is too well represented - 3 in the bottom 10 and 3 on the waiting list - 6 out of 13 teams?  awful.
