Whoa.  There goes NIU's top 25 ranking.

Michigan stayed at #12 after Akron almost beat them.

Why do you think they will drop out of top #25 after winning?

If we had won today--even by a single point--it would be, grudgingly, okay.

We lost.  On homecoming.  A game we should have won.  That is not okay; it is bad.

Because of the inherent bias against non-AQ schools by most voters and because of some pretty impressive wins by teams that were just behind them in the polls, especially Nebraska (44-7 @ Purdue), Mizzou (41-26 @ #7 GA), Wisconsin (35-6 over #19/18 Northwestern) & maybe Auburn (62-3 over W Carolina).  Non-AQs have a smaller margin for error than AQs do.  NIU's at #23, so it wouldn't take much to drop them from the top 25.

Who in the hell cares what the score of this game was, or whether or not NIU stays ranked?

Whats important is deciding whether or not I bail on the wedding I'm supposed to go to next weekend (not mine) so I can watch our game, since I stopped watching this one in the middle of the second quarter and we went on to suck after that.

last year when we barely beat UMass, then we barely beat Buffalo, then we barely beat Akron, we kept getting more and more votes each week. Then we had a bye week and we got voted into the top 25. NIU will be fine.

That surprises me.  It's nice to see that the Herbies of the world have taken over just yet.

I forgot, what was our bet?

Yes, nothing would please me more than for a MAC team to go to a BCS Bowl for the second year and a row and see Jerkstreet have a hernia on national TV.
