EDIT: I was pissy and shot off my mouth. No problems. Carry on.

The culture? There's like four people saying it.

I think some of them are being sarcastic.  We are lucky to have Solich as our coach.  Today, though, from a tactical standpoint, he may have been out coached.

It really is just a few people and it's mostly knee-jerk reactions after a loss or an unsatisfactory win.  The vast majority seem to be willing to ride the Solich train until he decides to bring it to a stop.

+1. In Frank we trust. I lived through Knorr, Cleve, Lichty, etc. This is as good as it gets...

Quick answer:  Beau up the middle.

How many times did we run on first and second down and get a total of maybe 3-5 yards max?  One real good play was the fake dive and long pass for a TD.  We do not seem to have a very "creative" offense.  I think we are predictable and bank on better execution than our opponents.  Today, that didn't work.

In the 2nd half, we passed off a fake dive a few times.  It certainly gave us time to pass.

But we'd rather run up the middle for no yards at key moments.  We have that play down, my man.

Tettleton seems almost unwilling to run now, like he's afraid of getting hurt. I'd actually say he's regressed since his sophomore year overall. Maybe he's cut down on forcing passes, but he doesn't make all the same plays. Also, every team has Blankenship's number this year. See Dri Archer's decreased productivity as well. We need to pass or run with the qb more, but it just isn't there after Tettleton's Sophomore year. Get sophomore Tettleton on this team and it would be better in my honest opinion. Tettleton running that much would greatly improve this team. Gotta miss players like Brazil and Price as well. (no offense to Cochran, Foster and co.). The receiving corps is talented, but nobody sticks out as a huge star which sucks since having a huge star receiver with the rest of this years good receiving corps would make the passing game that much better and open up the passing game.

I think you underestimate how much Ohio misses players like Skyler Allen, Eric Herman, Bryce Dietz and Vince Carlotta, not to mention  Jon Lechner, Sam Johnson, etc. Most people underestimate the value the offensive line, but a good offensive line makes all the difference in the world in how the QB looks, and how much yardage the running backs get.

The offensive line is not high on my list of players with the devotion and attitude to get the job done.  No comparison to the last couple yrs!  I choose to sit on the student side and about as close to where the offensive line assembles as you can get.  Without fail several lineman ( I will not name names, and it certainly isn't all of them) come out early for warmups. A couple will do a couple quick warmups involving technique, then they all sit on the bench.  At least 2 of them have girlfriends sitting right on top of them in the front row.  They usually look at and converse with them.  Maybe I'm old fashioned, but if I'm coaching I want my players heads in the game at that time!  They stay there till it's time to go back in the locker room to return for final warmups.  There is brief conversation even during the game up in the stands.  Note: I'm not pinning this on all of the lineman, just a few who are seeing plenty of action!  I've seen enough that I believe they feel they are pretty special when we see them as having a ways to go.

On another note: Vick was in full uniform yesterday.  If he was incapable of playing, why so?  And for Tettleton - he has seemed to be bothered for the last couple home games with something lower leg.  He has gimped some, had the trainer checking him out some, and the trainer will meet him coming off the field some.  Something appears to be out of sync with him.  He may be injured, or sometimes I get the feeling he's unhappy about something.

This is just what I've been seeing.  Usually I get ripped as I rarely post - so have at it!
