"It's unacceptable!"

Seriously, CMU deserves credit for playing hard. Ohio played hard, and came up short. It happens. The season isn't over. There is no one on the schedule that Ohio can't beat. If they win them all, they still win the MAC.

Got a good chuckle out of that . . . and I kind of think you hit the nail on head.  Some on here are acting a bit Chuck-like in their responses to yesterday's very disappointing loss.  We have bigger athletic budget than CMU, too!  (I didn't look it up and I'm going from memory, if wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected by the usual suspects.)

And here comes the old fart brigade to quell the uprising.

OCF and LC are going to tuck us in, rub whiskey on our gums and read us a bed time story. Probably something about respecting your elders or how recruiting services can't measure the size of a "young man's" heart!

Pretty insulting to LC. He tends to be an optimist until the end, though he's not dishonest.

I'm an older fart than is L.C., but I really like your sense humor.  I like sarcasm, even when I'm the target of it.  Your post made me smile and chuckle.  In all sarcasm there is a kernel of truth.  In this case, though, I think the kernel is rather small.

One further comment, us old farts have to stick together.  Frank and I were born in the same year, though he is a few months older .  .  . and much wiser when it comes to things football.

Glad you thought it was funny OCF. That was the main goal :)

Of course what you and LC are saying is true...I just have to whine because I'm a child of the Internet and its all I know!

I think the quote everyone is speaking is:  OHIO lost the game (on a muffed punt that should have never happened) CMU did not win the game.  Or, OHIO gave that one away.  Or, OHIO stole defeat from the jaws of victory with a muffed punt.  Bottom line is we played well enough to win the game except for one brain fart at the end.  I think someone said it best: you can deal with physical mistakes but you should not have mental lapses.  That was one big time mental lapse.  I hope it is corrected for next time.

I think I might quibble with the bolded line. CMU had twice the rushing yards, won time-of-possession, and killed us in turnover ratio.

Playing well enough to win and playing well are two different things. Either of which Ohio didn't do Saturday. If it had played well enough to win, it would have won.

I don't know. I think there are games you lose where you can feel good about your team's effort, despite the loss. This CMU game did not leave me with that feeling.

In all our post mortems, I hope we remember that CMU played its best game of the season Saturday, and that we don't make the same mistakes as Herdistan in saying the turnovers negate congratulating Central for outplaying us.

Come on, Jeff, you know that this loss was totally unacceptable to a former normal school with much less resources and name recognition than we have, located in the middle-of-nowhere in Michigan, and without our world-class walkon program.
