What has surprised me over the past two or three games is that teams still bite on the play action to Beau, leaving Cochran open down the field for a deep one.  It has worked in every game it's been used (I don't recall seeing it in the L'ville game) and has gone for an incompletion only once that I recall.  Apparently teams still respect our running game even though it isn't as productive as in the past, but at some point the DBs have gotta stop worrying about the run and stay with Chase.

This seems to be a good option for us at least once a game.  I am looking forward to the "bomb to Chase" play to carry us to a MAC title!

No kidding but I think you have to respect it when, after watching the film, you see that we'll run Beau into the heart of your line in any down or situation, no matter how incredulous the fan base gets.  Tim Albin is crazy like a fox, maybe?

I think play action is great to help freeze the DB but I think he's been able to get open on most non play action.

That's exactly it. People are tired of the runs up the middle but they serve a purpose. Hopefully as Cochran keeps beating teams deep, that will open up the running game more.

This is exactly what I was thinking.  They bite on the play action because of all those Beaus up the middle that the fans hate.

After some additional thought I too would agree.  Its not uncommon for teams to load the box on us given our run first preference.

My wish list moving forward.
1. I would like to see us utilize the slot a bit more. (Waters or Landen Smith) vs bringing in patterson on just a few plays per game.  While he is a great athlete and will have a bright future.  Unfortunately, he is not a receiver.   Let our receivers be receivers and our RB's be RB's.

2. Ease up on the rotation.  Our O seems to click when Foster, Waters, Cochran are in the game.   I know getting kids in the game is great for building for the future but we seem to struggle when we start mass subbing at this position.

I personally think Foster may be one of the best receiver we've had in a long time.  (I know this will not sit well with some). However,  I don't think we've even seen his best yet.  He has a very unique ability to get open.  a
