Last year we wondered how the addition of D-Line coach Jesse Williams would affect our ability to get to the quarterback. We wondered how recruiting would affect our ability to get to the quarterback. We brought in A LOT of new talent on the D-Line.

This year we're starting to see some dividends:

OHIO: 21 sacks (12th-T)

Ty Branz (Senior): 5.5 sacks (19th-T)

Tarell Basham (Freshman): 5 sacks (23rd-T)

Shout out to these guys. And shout out to the coaches who recruit and develop these players. Because they're doing what we desperately asked them to do last year (only 25 sacks in 2012, 62nd-T).

And man is Basham a shining star. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for him.

Go Bobcats!

Maybe why teams are running for 200-300 yards against us.  I love a pass rush but I'd like to stop the run a bit more often:)

Ohio's very effective bringing up the cornerbacks or safeties to blitz because you have the pressure everywhere. I wonder if the performance issues stopping the run more has to do with linebackers not reading the plays. Everytime misdirection is run the players look confused out there. It wasn't a problem in the Keller or Muncy years at MLB.
