Taking absolutely nothing away from TT and other recent OHIO stellar athletes, it's not far to compare their TOTAL stats with previous total stats. Back in the day, OHIO typically played 9 or 10 games, today we are talking about 12 games at a minimum and sometimes up to 14. The fairer comparisons are per-game stats. The current guys still come out very favorably!
I would have to go with the guy who led us to our last MAC Championship, an undefeated regular season, and a Top 20 ranking even after the loss in the Tangerine Bowl. I don't know what his career stats were, but I saw every home game Cleve played while I was there and he was pretty darn good. And he threw for about a million yards in the 60-48 win over UC and Greg Cook (who sadly passed away last year).
