This guy has 3 passing TDs, 1 rushing, and 1 receiving with time left in the first half. If any MAC player has a shot at the Heisman, he's the guy

saw a tweet from ESPN that said Lynch was the first person to throw 2TDs, run for 1 TD and catch 1 TD in a single game since..... Boo Jackson of Ohio in 2010.

It's scary that Lynch only played like 60% of the game and scored 6 touchdowns

Where is M.S.? He's supposed to be complaining that Lynch's stats came against nobody and that he actually had a horrible game

Okay, then.  Please compare NIU's record vs ours and the quality of their opponents vs. ours and the scores against common opponents.  No, it's not exact.  But if you can't tell the difference, then you have no business posting here.

OK, Monroe. Here is the data you requested:

Combined scores versus common opponents -
EMU, CMU, Akron - Ohio 125-54 combined
EMU, CMU, Akron - NIU 124-57 combined

FBS Foes, Sagarin Predictor Rating:
Ohio- Average= 68.1
Louisville - 85.90
Marshall 72.52
NTSU 69.44
Miami - 44.43

NIU - Average 58.9
Idaho - 45.55
Iowa - 76.76
Purdue - 56.02
Kent State 57.44

So, scores versus common fores are about identical, except that NIU managed a close win (Akron), and Ohio managed a close loss (CMU). Ohio played considerably better FBS foes, on average, but was soundly trounced by the best foe, Louisville.

From L.C.  Perhaps you will explain the difference.  It was not what I expected considering coach Solich's conservative style.

1 thing is clear...Jordon is their entire offense. Their D is nothing special. If Jordon should encounter an injury their season goes out the window.
He is an exciting player to watch and they are clearly the team to beat.
It will be difficult to replace him come next year.

In the end, none of this matters. Right now the one thing that does is beating Buffalo.

Beefs. They are what's for dinner.

I'll admit--'cause I'm nothing if not honest--that I'm surprised by the scores against common opponents.  But there's more to the story.

I said overall record.  We lost to CMU, NIU did not.  NIU is 8-0, we are 6-2.  Now, on that I'd exclude our L to Louisville because they are good (better than anyone NIU has faced) and our young team wasn't ready.  Plus, we've played redhawk and Austin Peay.  They've played Iowa, Purdue, kents.  Tougher sched on their end.  We lost to CMU, leaving us little room for error if we want to make the MAC title game.

That said, I think that we are built to play them:  our passing is effective and their pass D is not their strength apparently...and they largely depend on Lynch to run whereas it seems that our first, and best, defensive strength is stopping the run.  I wonder how good NIU is when they have to depend on passing.   Our nothing runs up the middle will limit us if not solved.  We need to be able to run on good teams.

Monroe - exactly - NIU escaped in their off game ('Kron), while Ohio did not.

NIU is not a concern right now, though. What is "Buffalo sucks"?

Beefs will be the test, will tell a lot.

We can definitely win it.  If we do, we could roll.

If we lose it thought...oh boy...

Let's come together beat Beefs MACC title!

One reason why Lynch likely won't be a Heisman finalist -- despite NIU's campaign -- is because of the sad state of the bottom half of the MAC.  We're the only conference with six teams that are guaranteed to have a losing record this season with a month still to go, and NIU plays five of them (Kent, Akron, EMU, UMass & WMU) with a combined record of 7-36.  No other conference has more than two. They also played 1-7 Idaho and 1-6 Purdue, so seven of the 12 teams they play are a combined 9-49.  If Teddy B is a longshot because of L'ville's weak schedule, Lynch is really a longshot.  Not that the numbers he's put up aren't impressive -- nobody else has done that against similar competition -- and he'll probably get some votes.  But it's difficult seeing him among the finalists.
