Anyone else see that ending to the Marshall game last night?  They so far have lost 3 of the 4 tight games they have played in now.  And not one of their wins is to a team with a winning record that is in the FBS.  I assume Chuck has lost completely lost his mind by now, lol.

With a score like that you'd think it was two MAC teams playing on a Wednesday night.

Here's a link to a post by Landon (full column not available online yet).  You'll note one of the posters in the comments below laments that the "season was lost in Athens."

Unlike most of you, I'm sad about this, because Marshall is my second favorite team.  I will have to agree with some of the comments here that Dcc does not appear to be the sharpest shovel in the coaching shed.  I my mind he blew a real chance to win the VT game in regulation by extremely poor clock management.

I saw most of it -- it was much more entertaining than the UK-Miss St game.  I was about half pulling for Terd, mainly because it makes our record look better if the teams we beat have good seasons (go N. Tex.).  MTSU was incredibly lucky (skilled?) on the last drive because they got first downs on a tipped pass and a jump ball, both on 3rd or 4th down.

Typically, I want to see a team we played do well, this includes Marshall.

But when you have the 10th defense (I think in scoring) playing against the 105th offense (scoring, I think) and the defense gets shredded, it's hard not to root for the dog.

If Landon says the loss was unacceptable and that they gave the game away, I completely agree with him.  Credit MTSU for great play, but Marshall absolutely gave that game away dropping not one but TWO sure picks.

Just curious, what does our SOS do for us at this point?  We're not going for rankings or jockeying for BCS position.  Is it with bowl picks after the regular season?

We've beaten one opponent FBS with a winning record.

Would that be NTSU at 4-3, or Marshall at 4-3?
