According to ESPN, he and the defensive coordinator (who also resigned) attended a social event where pot was used.  Not sure if they actually used it or just was there and maybe knew that it was being used.

Update: CBS reports they admitted using it.

It's hard to believe that he just started using it since moving to FAU.  It'll be interesting to see if this spreads back to Neb.

Not going to matter if it spreads back to Nebraska, Bo has his own issues. And if you want to see if it will blow back to Nebraska, why wouldn't it blow back to Athens?

You just never know.  But this could give those who have issues with Bo something else to harp on.

It only should matter if he hires him back. Considering the defensive issues Ohio has had this year, and considering Bo's history of hiring Carl in the past, that's a distinct possibility.

Not only that, but I'm sure there are some who will wonder if Carl did anything like that during his time at Neb and, if so, did Bo know about it.  Being his brother, Bo would likely know quite a lot about Carl's personal life, certainly more than he would about other coaches' habits.  He's been on the hot seat all year, and there are likely to be those who will try to use this to get him out.

For other issues, Bo will not be hiring Carl back even if he wanted to.

Does anyone really believe that Pelini and the DC were fired for smoking pot at a party? There's gotta be something else going on. Even if there was drug use, marijuana is not the drug that comes to mind when thinking about Boca Raton, and I gotta believe that S.O.P. in an employee substance abuse situation is to put treatment on the table before terminating the employment.

I can't think of any coach that has been caught smoking that stayed on. Now maybe it was done without any press. But in this particular setting if being a head coach , the standards are probably a lot higher than a normal job situation.

Depends on the party. If players were involved, YES, without a doubt.

Oh, and the school might go after him for terminating his contract early, says USA Today.

I think that would be appropriate. No excuses, right Monroe?

Just wondering today: When he cleaned out his office, did they let him take the plants home?

It sounds like they didn't allow him to clean out his own office. The headline says he was escorted off campus by police.

I guess this pretty much ends the Abreu to FAU rumors.
