The Colts played their fourth game of the year yesterday, so his suspension is over.  Now the Colts need to decide what to do with him.  Up to now he hasn't counted against the 53-man roster, but now he will.

Given the issues Ohio just went through I will be fine if he is not held in such high esteem.  His choices are not those that help his team and there must be players who make better decisions.

Not to start YABAMD (yet another bobcatattack marijuana debate), but Lavon's issues are relatively minor compared to Ohio players of the past and present. That said, he's my fav. player in Ohio history and a nice kid, so I hope he can get it together and have a solid NFL career.

The Colts waived WR Griff Whalen today and signed FB Robert Hughes.

Lavon moved from up to 2nd Team WR , but is still technically on the Suspended List.  I read through various reports on the Colts website and he can and will practice all week and then they will make final decisions at the end of the week as they do not have to commit to his status right now.  Reading between the lines I fully expect Lavon to be on the active roster next Sunday.

Colts | LaVon Brazill could return soon

Mon, 30 Sep 2013 15:53:32 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill is eligible to return to the active roster this week after serving his four-game suspension for substance abuse. However, the team has a one-week roster exemption for him, so it's unclear if he'll be activated for Week 5.

The Colts have decided not to activate LaVon at this time.  Not sure what his future is.

I sincerely hope Brazil and Cohen make the most of their opportunities this week. They've both been given second chances in the NFL and that does not always happen.

Go get 'em, guys.

TY Hilton got injured at the end of the half and Brazil was sent in for the last offensive play of the half. He should be playing second half

Saw him three or four times on the sideline during Indy's last drive of the first half.  Each time he was right behind coach Pagano, ready to be called.  It paid off when Hilton got hurt with the clock running near 10 secs and no TOs for Indy.  He ran on and was in the game for Indy's 3rd down play, an incomplete pass to Fleener.  Good to see him anxious to play and hustling onto the field.  Indy managed a FG to make it 10-6 SD.

Look for LaVon to get some more playing time immediately. Reggie Wayne likely done for the year.

He was the last name called in the big game last night as the hands guy on the onside kick.  It was an awkward bounce followed by an awkward jump with the ball getting past Lavon and going out of bounds, with Lavon jumping on it out of bounds and awkwardly celebrating.  It was kind of nervewrecking but all is well that ends well.

I was just checking my fantasy football roster (stupid Thursday night NFL games...Thursday is for #MACtion) and noticed LaVon was getting some love from ESPN as a free agent pick-up:

LaVon Brazill, WR, Colts (0.2 percent): How will the Colts offense work without Reggie Wayne, who's out with a torn ACL? Nobody really knows. T.Y. Hilton will play in two-receiver sets along with Darrius Heyward-Bey, enhancing his fantasy value by quite a bit. But will Brazill be the No. 3? Or will it be possession man Griff Whalen (0.0 percent), lately signed off the practice squad? Brazill would be most interesting, because he's got some legit deep-play ability. But it's fair to simply see how things play out.

Just had a head's up play vs Texans covering a kickoff.  He stripped the ball from the runner, then made a diving save to keep it from rolling out of bounds and it was recovered by Indy.  Damn, they called him out of bounds, but it was still a great play.  EDIT: It was a blown call, too.  No way was he out of bounds when he touched the ball.  Must have a former Big Least replay official tonight.

A lot of receivers don't like to block, but one thing about playing under Solich - Wide receivers know that's their job.

Most of the Colt's fans are pretty positive about LaVon: http://forums.colts.com/topic/22545-dhbwhalenbrazill/
