L.C.--My 'trophy' remark has nothing to do with the MACC title.  It has to do with those who seem to not to want to allow any criticism of our performance.  Espec those who fight back when some of us write that we see some uninspired or underperforming play at points or when we state that big numbers against markedly poor oppo don't necessarily impress us.

They seem to have the attitude that no analysis is allowed, that every moment of every day is perfectly sunny, and that everyone gets a trophy for every play.

And I know that not everyone reads every post here.  But I think it's fair to say that those of us who've criticized lately have also acknowledged our good play (NTSU, stupd cow, kron).

No, ths issue is that you seem to not want to allow any praise of any individual's performance. The only analysis that you seem to tolerate is that which agrees with your analysis.

Okay; new rules:

No fan fun critique is allowed at all.
No performance vs. reasonable expectations analysis is allowed.
And, everyone gets a trophy all the time.

This is not "fun".
Analyze all you want and even argue your point but stop disparaging everyone who disagrees.
No one gets a trophy until they win something - and that is only determined when all the games are played.  Hasn't happened yet.

One more:  It's not about you, Monroe.  Let's move on to something else, please.

Before today, redhawk was giving up over 200 ypg on the ground, at a rate of 4.8 yards per carry.

So, we did reasonably well today.

Put up today's numbers against Beefs and I'll be impressed.

I don't get the 'no standards, everyone gets a trophy, impressed no matter how lousy the opponent' crowd.

Monroe. If the Cats get today's numbers against the Beefs and lose, I guarantee you won't be impressed.  Excuse me, but, what is this BS about "everyone getting a trophy?" There were those two bowl trophies for wins over quality opponents to cap the last two seasons.  Each year for the past three the seniors and coaches have rewarded their fans loyalty with more wins, more wins and more wins.  They have my trust and confidence.  After a 41-16 win; including 300+ yards from the QB, 172 yds at 8.6 per carry from a back, 7 sacks, only 85 rushing allowed I will be enjoying it. I will not be sour about the one play out of 75 that got screwed up.  I will not be calling out the MAC's most efficient and Ohio's first 8,000 yard passer for not running out a fake.  I am confident the coaches will work what needs worked.  They don't need my help.  I trust in the coaches standards.  After what they have achieved at Ohio, I am not so arrogant to believe I know this game better than they.

What is your problem tonight? Its the third bitter loss of the season but it doesn't invalidate the program.

2nd bitter; nothing wrong with loss to Louisville--they're good and huge and we were too young.

But you miss the point.  The point is the annoying group which insists that it's always sunny and the team can do no wrong, who refused to see that the CMU loss and much of play at EMU was below our standards.

Maybe you're suggesting that our standards are lower.

No.
