The MAC has its own version of the Houston Nutt rule

you're nuts-Houston Nutt is 136-96 as a head coach, Parrish is 63-60-3. I'll take the Nutt record anytime- no comparison in these guys

Lol, I meant in terms of having to coach at every school in the conference, not in quality terms.

That's a pretty generous view of Parrish's record. If you look only at Parrish's record at the FBS level, he's 21-57-2.

Parrish the thought.

So, the "No hablo English" signs are up at Rynearson.

Really seems strange that they'd do it the day before a game.  You gotta wonder what happened during the last day or two.

Stan Parrish is like the chump 1980s wrestler that they'd bring out every week on WWF Superstars to lose to Junk Yard Dog or Paul "Mr. Wonderful" Orendorf. He's good enough to get on the field, but not good enough to get his name printed on his underwear.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  I like Stan.  He did a great job at Marshall in the post-crash era.  In the right environment (and this iis probably not it), I think he could thrive again.  If I recall from the last time this came up, it's one of the few topics that BTC and I ever agreed on.  That should say something!

EMU is an interesting place. To play at the FBS level, they need to show average attendance of 15,000. The stadium is nice, and appears to seat about 35,000. When I was there, I was told by a security guard that at a recent concert there were 8,000 people there, and that parking was a nightmare. He assured me that if 15,000 ever came to a football game, there would be horrible parking issues, but that fortunately they never go over 3-4,000.

This reminded me that our loss at Buffalo felt very much like those "life on the road in the MAC"  losses used to feel.

Stan Parrish also took over two of the worse NCAA programs and produced a .500 record, props to him.

Stan was one heck of a coach and a good person. Did wonders for Marshall and unfortunately will never get the credit for the ground work he did. Took the KSU job, which was similar to the rebuild at Marshall, but at a time the Big 8 was way tougher than today, and before KSU allowed anyone with a pulse and athletic talent to campus.

Umm, no, not even close. He was 13-8-1 at Marshall, so his record there was good. Unfortunately he was only 2-30-1 at K-State. Then, taking over a winning program at Ball State, he ended up 6-19. The only way to get his record to .500 is to include his Division III coaching record at Wabash, in 1978-82, where he was 42-3-1. His record is even better if you throw in his record at Windham High, too.

Stan Parrish got Keith Wenning to go to Ball State.

That concludes the list of achievements of Stan Parrish in Muncie.

His stay only looks worse when you consider they had Brady Hoke and Pete Lembo before and after him.

If they start firing coaches for that...well, there won't be a lot of coaches anymore.

Me thinks this was a convenient excuse to just go ahead and cut ties.
