Considering that this game appears to be over, the goal now should be to win 9 games and get into a bowl.  We need to come back next week -- hopefully with a different officiating crew -- and beat BG, then win out.  But we need to use the passing game to set up the run.  Nothing in the running game is working right now.

I say 8. The MAC has 4 bowl tie-ins because Army can't become bowl eligible and the MAC is the backup for the Poinsettia Bowl

I'm also predicting NIU or possibly even Balls is in a BCS game

Who cares? Winning 9 games against all the shitty teams on our schedule has largely become meaningless if we don't have a conference championship since 1968. On to season #46 without the trophy.

God bless you Pataskala, I love your optimism.  But I see no way in Hades that Ohio can beat Bowling Green at Bowling Green.  BG's better than Buffalo.

When was the last time we won a MAC Championship?  1968?

We should be called the Cubcats.

We can't afford to lose another game and be assured a bowl bid.  If we're 5-3, 8-4 we won't be fourth.  We'll be fifth behind NIU, BSU, Buffalo and BG, and maybe even sixth behind Toledo.  I don't think the MAC will get six or even five teams in bowl games.

I love your thinking Pataskala, but unless we figure some things out Bowling Green will beat the tar out of us too.  I think we can finish 8-4, which is not a bad season.  Still,  I am really getting antsy about going back to Detroit and actually win the title.  I think that day is coming soon, but I'm starting to understand how Fresno State felt.

I just think our D line matches up better vs BG's O line than it does vs Buffalo's.  What's going to be tough is putting this one behind us -- this is really a worse loss than L'ville because L'ville is tons more talented than Buffalo -- and patching up the injuries.  Donte went down, T2 was shaken up, and there were a couple others.

I say 8 too.

Beating BG next week would be really nice.

Did any of you see the way that Beefs pushed our d-line five yards up field on every play.

Why would you think that we can beat BG.

We may go to a bowl game.  But right now, who cares.

BG at least has lost a MAC game while Buffalo hasn't. That gives some hope. Its inconceivable that the second half goes as badly as this one did. As it always does after a poor loss I expect the team to rebound the next week. There is a chance at BG.

Who really thinks our lines match up with BG?

And, this is November, remember last November?  That would be beat downs by Balls and BEeeGees.  This year it is Buffs and BeeGees beating on us.

I care about next week because its a shot to spoil BG's season and they're competition for one of those bowl spots that I'm crossing my fingers to get . If I'm a 5th year senior its time to lay it all out on the line.

Not me!  Our lines have not been good all season.  Ever wonder why Beau was so good the last couple yrs?  Because our off. line was pretty good.  Not this yr!  Our defensive line has not been that good either!

Someone is smoking something if they think, based on last nights performance, this team can beat BG.  I flipped back and forth last night and BG has a lot more offensive speed and weapons.  And, their defense hits every bit as much as the Buffs.  This will be another of those old fashioned ass-kickings unless our attitude on the field changes.

Let me put it this way, (1)I don't think we go to a bowl unless we beat BG and (2)I don't think we beat BG. If we win out in the regular season, all my bad feelings about this season will be vanquished and sent to a far away place and I will relish going to a bowl game.

Last year BG didn't beat us we handed the game to them -- blocked punts (three step drops), balls snapped through the punter's leg into the end zone (safety), etc.  Frank said it was the worst kicking performance he'd ever seen.  That's not likely to be repeated.  I agree with Pataskala, I think we match up better with BG on the line.  Go OHIO!

The punts hurt us against BG.  No one can argue against that.

But I was at that game and I've never seen a more unconfident Ohio team.  In the first half we'd line up on offense and look to the sideline and you could feel the lack of decisiveness and confidence.  We were never going to win that game.

I can handle losing.  I can't handle crumbling like that.

Special Teams is 1/3 of the game.....BG beat us, we failed to execute, we did not hand them anything, they took it, by outplaying OHIO.  At the end of the day, it's a loss!

Billy the Cat, why do I get the distinct feeling that if OCF posted something that said the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, you'd immediately post something that says he's wrong and doesn't know what he's talking about?
