I saw that it is Friday, July 19. Maybe more interesting is that it is at the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.

The HoF has finally made lots of progress on the HoF Village and lodging, they will be poaching many of these events. And they will do them well.

The HoF project is a boondoggle with very sketchy finances. Lead sponsor (Johnson Controls) backed out and is suing for breach of contract.

I won’t disagree that it has had what appears major issues and suspected of being just that SBH, however, they actually do have buildings and programming now with lots of events and activities. Only took 7 years after the stadium was constructed.

They had to sell off important, revenue-generating pieces of the project just to get the construction restarted. I lived this firsthand with the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron in the mid-1990s. These projects always start with a bang, then reality steps in. Even if the complex is completed they will have a hard time paying off the bonds after the newness wears off. The HoF itself struggles to attract crowds outside of its signature events - induction weekend and the NFL preseason game.

Just came across this, and whoever is in charge is at least making efforts to fill events. But I do get what you are saying. From a personal perspective, HoF Stadium is a great place, big time stadium experience, excellent amenities for the players and such. Great place to officiate with a good crowd.

For those interested that have time tomorrow:

I think this is the Ohio broadcast with Russ and Rob which should also be available on the Ohio Bobcats app, through the Varsity Network, and on some of the radio network stations. I'd guess that it will be linked from Russ's or the Ohio Football twitter account but I don't see it yet.

Woods' first year playing for Ohio was all the way back in 2018. It's now 2024. This will be his 7th year. LOL....yes I know why, and that he's not alone and others are/have doing this too. But it still blows my mind just how long these guys can play and the length and amount of eligibility they have to use.

One of the things that I note if you have heard Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher speak the last few years is that the Presidents have not left dealing with the changing landscape entirely to the ADs. They had their say in expansion, dealing with playoff expansion, and getting rid of divisions. He says the MAC is arguing that the players deserve to be paid but are not employees

Coaches, when there are changes, love to use the word "excited". Albin used it numerous times when being Russ and Rob. Albin said that he thinks being picked fifth is a big show of respect for the program after having 59 new players on the roster and having 12 players from last year playing for power teams. I don't disagree but coaches picked in the middle of the pack usually say they don't care or consider themselves contenders. I don't know if that's refreshing honesty or concerning. Albin says that this is overall the fastest roster Ohio has had in his time here.
