FWIW, USAT puts Toledo at 38, Ohio 58, and MOFO 61. So, they're saying it'll be a Toledo-Ohio rematch in the MACCG. The rest of the MAC: EMU 90, NIU 94, BG 106, CMU 110, WMU 113, BSU 123, Buffalo 126, Akron 131, and Kent dead last at 134. Our OOC opponents are Syracuse 74, SBama 99, and Kentucky 38. So they're saying we could be 3-1 in OOC games, 7-1 in the MAC, 10-2 overall in the regular season. Something to chew on.

This seems to mean that they think we are doing well in the portal. I could live with those results.

Syracuse might put 74 on us.

It is hard for me to believe we are ranked that high. That would make us slightly better than last year. If we can lose all of these players transferring up and then replace them with a 100+ ranked NIL pot size then Albin has performed a miracle.

If we are ranked 3 spots ahead of Miami but have to play there and everyone else is ranked pretty far behind then these rankings would still favor Miami to make the championship game. In a similar note, even if we are favored in 10 games our most likely win total is not 10. We'd have 10 chances to be upset and only 2 chances to pull an upset so you would still except less that 10 regular season wins. If we do win 10 regular season games I'll be ecstatic.

Syracuse will be favored, but I will take the under on the "Cuse" scoring 74.

I have absolutely no idea how good or bad the Bobcats will be this fall. All I know is that the bobcats are green, and Oobleck is green. What will this fall's oobleck, er, Bobcats look like?
[quote=Dr. Suess]Won't look like rain, Won't look like snow. Won't look like fog, That's all we know. We just can't tell you anymore. We've never made oobleck before.

The coaches have built a new team from scratch, and we hope it will be good, and fun to watch, but this is all new territory, and yes, it will be amazing if the Bobcats win 10.

Someone told me all MAC teams got worse as a result of the portal, but it looks like we'll be "less worse" than everyone except Toledo. Fires you up, huh?

The real question is, can the coaching staff meld a ton of newcomers in with some returning players, sort out the best, adjust the game plan to fit the players they have, and at the same time, build within this new group of players a sense of teamwork and purpose?

ESPN SP+ rankings has Ohio at 102 right now so I wouldn’t get too excited about that ranking. We’re still in the bottom 10 as far as returning production and we have no idea how the new guys will perform.

Agree with a lot of this, really up in the air. Has anyone heard anything about the QB situation? Based on transfers I guess Parker Navarro is the guy until further notice. Did any other qb do anything in spring? Lots of inexperience at QB

We just signed a JUCO QB and at 6’5”-225 he fits a typical QB mold.

Normally I would be worried about the coaches putting this all together but we have WR Coach Allen who has a resume a mile long and we also added the former defensive coordinator of San Diego State.

I suspect that Navarro's strengths may have had something to do with the extremely short tenure of Gundy in Athens. I'm guessing he thought he'd come to a little old MAC school from OSU and be immediately crowned starting QB.
